Schiller had only ever seen one kind of otter: the Asian small-clawed otters he had seen at a zoo in Asia in his previous life. They had been quite adorable, but the one before him was clearly not one of those. It was far larger than an Asian small-clawed otter.
Her fur was much longer than that of an ordinary otter, a mix of dark and light brown. If he could not see the mechanical structure beneath her skin, he would have thought she was just an ordinary otter.
But there was no doubt that this creature was most likely Rocket Raccoon's old flame, Lyra. The mechanical structure inside her was very similar to Rocket Raccoon's, clearly from the same laboratory.
In the original story, Lyra had actually been a con artist. She had tricked Rocket several times—out of money, affection, and feelings. Even so, Rocket still had some lingering attachment to her.
But from what Schiller had learned from Rocket Raccoon of this universe, although Lyra here could not exactly be called a good person... or a good otter, and she had also deceived Rocket, she seemed to have had her reasons. Rocket's feelings for her could no longer be described as lingering attachment. He was hopelessly infatuated with her.
There had to be a reason this otter had appeared here. The worst possibility was that she was the poisoner, but if he simply handed her over to the Mutants and Magneto lost his temper, killing her to silence her, would Rocket Raccoon not be heartbroken?
Besides, Schiller felt there was probably more to this matter. From Rocket Raccoon, he had learned that Lyra was a very shrewd otter and an excellent bounty hunter. She would not wade into the Mutants' mess for no reason.
