Although the situation at Gotham University sounded urgent, Batman could still tell what took priority. He decided to visit Wayne Tower first and check the surveillance footage from around the police station. If he could directly trace Jonathan's movements, many questions would be easily resolved.
To be safe, he brought Aisha along and had Superman hold her, forbidding her from acting on her own.
It had to be said that this tactic effectively restrained Aisha. Leaning against Superman's solid chest, she sighed mournfully.
"I told you, I'm not human..."
"But you're Bruce's daughter. If anything happened to you while you were with me, I'd never be able to forgive myself. Be good, sweetheart. Once this is over, I'll build you the biggest slide castle in the world."
Aisha's eyes immediately lit up. "Really? Bigger than the one at the hotel?"
Batman said disdainfully, "You call that big? On the way here, I saw an amusement park to the east. I'll have them clear out a space and build you a two-hundred-thousand-square-foot slide castle."
Aisha immediately cheered. No longer caring that she could not move freely, she started counting on her fingers, listing all the attractions she wanted added to the castle.
When they arrived at Wayne Tower, Batman got out of the car and passed the security verification without much trouble. Pretending not to hear the Russian ringing in his ears, he made his way to the top floor.
But he had not expected to encounter someone unexpected there.
"Constantine? What are you doing here?"
Constantine looked Batman up and down, seeming momentarily at a loss for words. "Didn't you tell me to use the portal?... Oh, wait. You're not Bruce..."
