No one had expected to witness a scene straight out of a machine uprising—outside the Brainiac Center construction site, security robots armed with guns patrolled everywhere.

These robots clearly did not belong to this era. They looked exactly like the ultimate villains from science-fiction movies. Their metal shells gleamed with a dim light, and their movements were incredibly fluid. From a distance, they were indistinguishable from humans, without even the slightest stiffness of mechanical creations.

They also came in different models. Some were hulking giants over two meters tall, their heavy footsteps shaking the ground even from dozens of meters away. Others were smaller but faster, able to circle the entire construction site so quickly that only afterimages could be seen in the dark night.

Not to mention the layers upon layers of turrets inside. Some were mounted above the main gate, while others were positioned in windows, leaving virtually no blind spots across a full 360 degrees. Their pitch-black barrels seemed even darker in the night, enough to make one's scalp tingle with just a glance.

Rat Woman had controlled a rat to sneak over, but before it could even get close, it was reduced to ashes by a laser beam. The sight nearly made her cry out.

Pamela quickly covered her mouth. Victor said from beside them, "They must have Night Vision Goggles and thermal imaging. There's no way we can rush in."

"If it were only thermal imaging, that would be easy enough to handle." Pamela extended a hand, and a Vine rustled along the edge of the sidewalk. Yet the moment it entered the construction site's perimeter, it was immediately struck.

"They may have some kind of motion-sensing and identification system. Any abnormal movement will be detected."

"Now this is troublesome." Deathstroke clicked his tongue.
