"Fine Wine Pool... Gotham Cathedral..."

A well-defined hand passed over book after book before suddenly stopping on one titled History of Gotham City Construction. Its index finger hooked around the spine and pulled it from the shelf.

The other hand gently brushed the dust from the cover. After opening the book and following the table of contents downward, a voice sighed softly.

"Gotham Cathedral... found it."

Beyond row after row of bookshelves, an elderly butler dressed with impeccable precision passed by carrying a tray. He stopped between two shelves, looked at Bruce, who was engrossed in reading before the bookcase, and said, "Master, it's time for afternoon tea. Shall I bring it over?"

"No... Thank you, Alfred." Bruce did not look up and remained focused on the book's introduction to Gotham Cathedral. After a pause, he said, "Put it on the table over there. I'll come by later."

Bruce stood there reading for a while, but the lighting seemed too dim for him to make out some of the details in the pictures and blueprints. So he took the book out from between the shelves, went to the nearby sitting area, and sat down in a chair.

Alfred stood by the table, took out the refreshments from the cart beside him, then picked up the teapot and began brewing tea. Bruce kept his head lowered over the book as the sound of tea pouring into a cup mingled with Alfred's voice.

"Master, you seem to have become absorbed in research related to magic and the occult lately?"

"Mm." Bruce responded briefly. In private, he spoke even less, but when he was alone with Alfred, his tone was more relaxed, and he was willing to explain certain things.
