Tim poured Jena a cup of hot water. They sat down on the nearby sofa. Tim said, "I heard Barry was having some problems. What happened to him?"

"Something is chasing him," Jena said. "I don't know much about the Speed Force, so I don't know what it is. I'm investigating Pelota's resurrection, but it isn't easy."

Tim raised an eyebrow. "Can someone really come back from the dead?"

"For an enemy capable of extinguishing the sun, resurrection isn't exactly difficult," Jena said, lowering her eyes.

"You just said you couldn't go any deeper."

"Yes. I rely entirely on empathy to solve cases. The deeper I empathize, the more I know. But..."

"You already know who it is, don't you?" Tim asked, looking into her eyes.

Jena looked somewhat confused. "The situation is strange. I think maybe it is, but..."

"But what?"

Jena pressed her lips tightly against the rim of her cup. "I can't be sure. I can't even convince myself."

"You have a suspect, but something the killer displayed makes you feel it isn't them." Tim reasoned, "What is different between them?"

"Theology," Jena said. "The motives I analyzed earlier—the desecration of corpses and death—were reasonable. But this theological sense of ritual..."

Jena shook her head. "Something is off. It clashes with the image I have in my mind."

"Tell us who you suspect," Brainiac suddenly said.

"I can't, because I can't take responsibility for my own words." Jena looked at her phone. "To you, everything is just hallucinations I experienced when I saw the crime scenes. There is no actual evidence."

"Someone else died," Brainiac said. "Two bodies, at the docks and in the South Side."

Tim sighed. "Night brings the monsters out. Brainiac, the dark age wasn't as simple as you thought."

"Only Gotham is unusual."
