The car stopped on the road in front of Gotham University, its tires screeching harshly against the pavement. Victor swiftly shoved open the door and climbed out. When he saw the brightly lit university dormitory building, he let out a breath of relief.

Victor took a deep breath but did not relax. Instead, he continued briskly toward the university. "No, we still can't be sure. The laboratory is quite far from the dorms..."

Yet that only unsettled Victor further, making him think of many terrible possibilities. Perhaps he had rehearsed this scenario in his mind countless times. The madness born of obsession was nearly swallowing him whole.
"Calm down, Victor... Victor! Come back!" Harvey shouted from behind, but Victor had already rushed into the laboratory building.
Heavy footsteps echoed through the stairwell. Victor charged up to the floor where the laboratory was located, and when he stopped at the stairway entrance, he saw faint light spilling from a door in the corridor.
Like a moth entranced by light, Victor walked straight toward the door. When he pushed it open, he saw several children standing outside the cryogenic chamber
