What Li Yue-kun was thinking was that by training Nahida, he could get the entertainment he wanted! After all, no matter how much the World Tree was altered, it couldn't change him, a visitor from another world.
21. Blondie, the Ace Pilot
The amount of Reiatsu consumed by Spirit Path Creation wasn't much—less than what he recovered—so Li Yue-kun could keep training with it continuously.
At first, the spirit paths he laid would crack or be uneven, causing collapses, but after laying them for a while, the paths became very even and durable. He had to admit, the memory files Aizen provided were really useful—awakening as a Bleach in one day, learning Shikai in two, mastering Flash Step and Kido in three. Wasn't this way better than Kisuke Urahara's teaching?
Carrying Nahida, Li Yue-kun traveled all the way from Wangshu Inn to Stone Gate. They rested a bit at a tea stall there, each drinking a bowl of tea, then set off from Stone Gate again to officially enter Mondstadt.
After passing Stone Gate, he rose into the air again. From afar, he could see Dragonspine Mountain to the east. Nahida, who had never seen snow, was full of curiosity about the white-covered mountain in the distance, but unfortunately, Li Yue-kun wasn't taking her there for now.
Walking along the high altitude, crossing mountains and lakes, the two saw a vast vineyard—Dawn Winery, Master Diluc's hometown, the grape-producing region that controlled all of Mondstadt's wine industry. But for Li Yue-kun, a vineyard wasn't much to look at, so he didn't linger and passed directly over Dawn Winery, heading straight for Mondstadt City.
Compared to Liyue, Mondstadt didn't have as much mountainous terrain. The nicer scenery was mostly concentrated around Mondstadt City—Cider Lake, Starfall Lake, Windrise, Gazing Star Cliff, and the city itself. Beyond that was the Temple of the Four Winds, which was definitely worth seeing. As for whether there was anything else worth looking at, that depended on whether this real Teyvat had any other differences.
Unlike yesterday, he didn't travel on the ground today, so he avoided detours and slow uphill or downhill sections. The whole way was like a straight highway on flat ground. When he got tired from Flash Step, he switched to walking on the spirit path for a while, and once he'd rested enough, he set off again. The entire journey was smooth and unobstructed.
To make good time, Li Yue-kun even stopped his livestream, temporarily pausing chats with the group members to focus on traveling. He could just start the stream again once he reached Mondstadt and chat with them then.
Around three in the afternoon, Li Yue-kun finally brought Nahida to the sky outside Mondstadt City.
"We're finally here."
Arriving outside Mondstadt City, Li Yue-kun couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief. Finally here—it really hadn't been easy.
"The City of Freedom, Mondstadt. So this is the nation of the God of Wind?"
Nahida looked down at another city with a new style, her big eyes full of curiosity.
"That's right, this is Mondstadt. Come on, let's go down and take a look."
As Li Yue-kun spoke, he began laying a spirit path downward, but before the path was finished, the sky suddenly darkened.
The gentle breeze that had been blowing abruptly turned fierce. All the wind around Mondstadt City converged above it, forming a massive vortex cloud. Then, from within that vortex cloud, a huge amount of Anemo element began pouring down from above, creating enormous tornadoes that rampaged through Mondstadt City.
"What is this!?"
Nahida stared in shock at the scene. Was this how the God of Wind ruled his people? By pouring down tornadoes to give them freedom?
But the residents of Mondstadt City didn't look very happy about it—they were all running for their lives.
"I didn't expect the timing to be this perfect."
Li Yue-kun knew exactly what was happening. He'd initially thought it was just Dvalin's daily harassment, but what surprised him was that among those whirlwinds, he spotted a Blondie. After seeing that blond fool floating in the sky with his wind glider spread, he immediately understood what point in time this was.
The timing was just right—it was the start of the story.
"This coincidental?"
Nahida didn't quite understand the situation in Mondstadt City.
"I heard in Liyue that Mondstadt was suffering from a Dragon Disaster, that Dvalin was appearing here and causing a lot of damage. So I came from Liyue to check it out."
"I see. Li Yue-kun, you want to help Mondstadt? First you helped me, and now you're helping Mondstadt. Even though you're from Liyue, Li Yue-kun is really a good person."
But Li Yue-kun directly shook his head in denial.
"I came to see what a dragon looks like. I've lived this long and never seen one, so I wanted to check it out. And also see if there's any entertainment."
The smile on Nahida's face vanished.
"Entertainment?"
"Yeah, watching the fun."
Li Yue-kun pointed at the blond fool being swept into the sky by the gale.
"See that blond girl?"
"Mm, I see her."
"I sense a strange power from her. My gut tells me that following her will bring a lot of entertainment."
"Hmm..."
Nahida pressed her fingertip to her lips, looking very puzzled.
"Nahida, hold on tight. I'm going to speed up."
"I don't know what Li Yue-kun wants to do, but okay."
With her confusion, Nahida hugged Li Yue-kun's head. She was riding on his shoulders, and if she didn't hold on tight in this strong wind, she'd fall off.
"Then, let's go!"
Li Yue-kun's Reiatsu exploded beneath his feet, and he vanished from his spot in an instant, climbing high into the sky. As he ascended, he also opened his livestream.
Within three seconds of the stream going live, Kasumigaoka and Aizen entered the room.
Fat Woman in Black Stockings: Made it to Mondstadt?
Meme Lord: Yeah, arrived at the City of Freedom.
Hair Gel Man in the Sky: This Mondstadt doesn't seem quite like what Li Yue-kun described before.
Fat Woman in Black Stockings: It does look free, but it's the American kind of free.
Both were taken aback by the current state of Mondstadt City—the dim sky, the raging tornadoes, and the massive vortex cloud above. It didn't look like a nice place at all.
Meme Lord: Because there's a Dragon Disaster going on here.
After Li Yue spoke, he surged upward through the swirling clouds and broke out above them. Up here, there weren't many clouds—it looked like Earth's stratosphere, just an endless blue sky. Beneath that sky, a green dragon with six wings was darting left and right, and behind it, a blond girl was chasing it using a wind glider. The dragon flew fast, but surprisingly, the blond girl was even faster, steadily closing the distance.
Hair Gel Man in the Sky: Is that girl chasing the dragon a Vision holder, or the Anemo Archon?
Meme Lord: Neither—she's an ace pilot!
Hair Gel Man in the Sky: ?
As Blue Dye puzzled over that, the blond girl opened fire! She actually shot!
A burst of Anemo-element bullets fired from in front of the girl, strafing the dragon.
The dragon, annoyed by the barrage, roared and accelerated. After speeding up, it looped back and charged straight at the girl, pushing through her bullets. She was forced to stop firing and adjust her stance to dodge. The dragon's attack missed, but it didn't linger—it just sped up again and shot off, quickly shrinking to a black dot before vanishing.
The blond girl's speed also slowed rapidly, and she began drifting lazily down toward the ground.
"Come on, let's head over."
Dvalin was too fast—Li Yue couldn't catch up, and he couldn't intervene in the fight either. All he could do was watch. But he could still see the good part coming!
The swirling clouds in the sky, deprived of Dvalin's power, began to dissipate. Li Yue started laying down steps of spirit particles, hopping down one by one.
When the blond girl—Lumine—landed, she was immediately caught by Mondstadt's reconnaissance knight, Amber. The mysterious floating creature followed closely, watching Lumine anxiously.
"Are you okay?"
Amber helped Lumine up, looking her over carefully to check for injuries.
The mute girl smiled and shook her head to show she was fine. Just then, applause rang out.
Amber and Lumine turned to look. Like a villain boss making an entrance, Kaeya, Mondstadt's cavalry captain, strolled over slowly, clapping lightly. He smiled at Lumine and began his speech.
"To think..."
But before he could finish, someone else cut him off.
"To think you possess the power to fight a dragon."
The voice came from above and to the side. Kaeya, along with the other two, looked up to see a young man with an adorable little girl perched on his shoulders, standing in midair with a grin, still clapping as he smiled at them.
"Are you our guest... or a new storm?"
As soon as he said that, a giant question mark popped up over Kaeya's head, followed by a strange sound.
"Huh?"
22. The Dendro Archon and the Anemo Archon's First Meeting
The atmosphere was tense. Amber and Lumine stood together, staring curiously at Li Yue, while Kaeya was full of question marks, shocked that someone had stolen his lines. No one spoke.
"Um... who are you?"
Finally, the sweet Amber broke the awkward silence, taking the initiative to ask Li Yue.
"Who am I? That's a good question!"
Li Yue stopped clapping and crossed his arms.
"For a while, I was a Cause-level Master saving human order. For a while, I was a commander of Azur Lane. Not long ago, I was a good teacher educating students. But now, you can call me a traveler on the Teyvat continent!"
"I didn't understand any of that, but another traveler?"
Amber was very surprised.
"Another?"
Kaeya snapped out of his shock and looked at Amber curiously.
"Ah, Captain Kaeya, I forgot to introduce you."
Amber started playing matchmaker.
"This is the traveler I met outside the city—Lumine and Paimon, from far away. Traveler, this is Kaeya, our cavalry captain in the Knights of Favonius."
"As for the one up there..."
Amber looked up at Li Yue and scratched her head. She didn't know him.
"I'm Li Yue, a traveler from Liyue."
Li Yue introduced himself as he descended from the sky, taking Nahida off his shoulder and setting her on the ground.
"This is my daughter, Nahida."
"Hello, I'm Nahida."
Nahida cooperated perfectly with the introduction, then curiously studied Amber and Kaeya. Real Mondstadt people—she was seeing them for the first time.
"A Liyue person? A Liyue person came down from the sky—has Liyue developed to the point where people can fly now?"
Amber looked at Li Yue curiously.
"Could it be... you're one of the Adepti from Liyue?"
Amber's grandfather was from Liyue, so she knew some rumors about it—like how there were Adepti who could fly through the sky and burrow through the earth.
"I'm not an Adeptus."
Li Yue shook his head, dismissing Amber's guess.
The so-called Adepti were merely individuals of immense power, with slight variations in how they were described across nations. In Liyue, the Adepti were beings who wielded unique and powerful Adeptal Arts and enjoyed long lifespans. By that measure, Li Yue himself now qualified—after his Shinigami Transformation, he had mastered unique Kido and a Zanpakuto, and his lifespan had been extended as well. In a sense, he could indeed be considered an unconventional kind of Adeptus.
"Not an Adeptus, but you can fly?"
"Alright, it's just simple Air Walk. Don't worry about it."
Li Yue waved a hand.
"How is that something not to worry about?"
Amber was speechless, while Kaeya, standing nearby, seized the opportunity to steer the conversation.
"So, Mr. Li Yue from Liyue, why exactly have you come to our Mondstadt?"
Though Liyue and Mondstadt had always maintained friendly relations, the timing of the Dragon Disaster striking Mondstadt City was far too sensitive. As an outsider arriving at this moment, Kaeya had to remain vigilant.
"Of course, because I heard Mondstadt was having a dragon problem, so I came to check it out."
Kaeya had considered various possible answers—that Li Yue was visiting for tourism, or for business. Whatever his purpose, Kaeya assumed he wouldn't reveal his true intentions outright. But now Li Yue had bluntly said he came to see the Dragon Disaster. Wasn't that a bit...
"Mondstadt's roads to Liyue have been cut off due to the Dragon Disaster, so... you flew all the way from Liyue just to see it?"
"Yes, as soon as I heard about the Dragon Disaster in Mondstadt, I set off that very night, just to catch that scene earlier. Gotta say, impressive for a dragon—quite the spectacle!"
Li Yue even gave Kaeya a thumbs-up in approval.
"Well, this..."
Kaeya stared at Li Yue in utter disbelief. Buddy, telling a Mondstadt native that their disaster-stricken city makes for a great show—isn't that a bit too much?
"Alright, I was just joking. I came because of the Dragon Disaster, sure, but more than that, I wanted to see just how capable that dragon really is."
Kaeya caught Li Yue's meaning and was visibly surprised.
"You want to fight Dvalin?"
"That's right. I came to take on Dvalin. As the price for helping you all fight him, I wonder if the Knights of Favonius could offer us some hospitality?"
