Though the house was dilapidated, it should not take long to restore it with magic.
However, Shaya did not know the kind of repair spell from Harry Potter that seemed to rewind time. Otherwise, he could probably have fixed it in an instant.
The only regret was that it was too far from a water source, and it was up high besides, making it difficult to channel water here. Still, he could leave that to Cassifa.
He had no idea what the person who designed this house had been thinking. They had probably sacrificed a great deal for the view.
Suddenly, Shaya seemed to notice something. He walked a few steps behind the house and saw several wooden water troughs concealed beneath the weeds.
The troughs connected the house to a small patch of forest behind it. However, after years of neglect, several sections had fallen to the ground and been corroded full of holes by the sea breeze.
Shaya followed the troughs into the forest. The trees were tall but not dense, and after walking a few dozen steps, he arrived beneath the mountain wall.
A cave had been artificially carved out here. Shielded by the trees, the water troughs here remained quite intact.
Shaya entered the cave. It was not large, and the temperature was much lower than outside. The most eye-catching sight was the waterwheel deep within the cave.
Beneath the waterwheel was a spring that churned endlessly, like boiling water.
Shaya approached the spring and dipped his hand into it, only to discover that the water was very cold.
Then how had this "boiling" appearance formed?
Shaya frowned in confusion. He crouched down, cupped some water in both hands, and took a small sip.
It was cool upon entering his mouth, but as something in the water stimulated his taste buds, he felt a tingling sensation, a slight burn, and bitterness. Then came a sweet aftertaste.
It felt like drinking a carbonated beverage.
So Shaya understood almost instantly how the "boiling" effect had come about. It was the bubbling caused by carbon dioxide.
And the carbon dioxide came from sodium bicarbonate, which dissolved easily in water. In humid air or hot air, it slowly decomposed and produced carbon dioxide.
This was Natural Soda Water.
Most people thought of soda water as a beverage artificially made from a sodium bicarbonate solution, or by directly injecting carbon dioxide into drinking water or other drinks until it became saturated.
Yet many people did not know that Natural Soda Water existed in this world.
Through rainfall, condensed water seeped deep underground.
Under particular geological formations and special hydrogeological conditions, over long geological ages.
Through prolonged deep circulation under pressure, natural purification, leaching, ion-exchange enrichment, and other combined processes.
The sodium bicarbonate, minerals, and trace elements in the surrounding rock layers were transferred into the water, creating healthy water that was clean, safe, pollution-free, and rich in nutrients.
This geological process was measured in tens of millions of years.
Environment, geology, and time were the three essential factors. None could be absent.
Thus, Natural Soda Water was a precious "legacy" of nature's long transformation, an irreplaceable and precious nonrenewable resource.
Natural Soda Water was rich in many minerals and trace elements, and those trace elements existed in ionic form, making them easier for the human body to absorb.
It also had an ideal pH value. Natural Soda Water was mildly alkaline, which was highly necessary for transporting oxygen, regulating metabolism, eliminating acidic waste, and preventing disease.
In the world where Shaya had once lived, there had only been five Natural Soda Water sources in the entire world.
The popular Perrier sold in that world was a kind of Natural Soda Water.
He had looked up the information back then because he wanted to know why that water sold for so much.
"This emperor really knew how to enjoy himself," Shaya murmured.
No wonder he had gone out of his way to hide the deed to this place.
Though Shaya had no particular requirements for water quality, finding such a precious spring here was an unexpected delight.
He left the cave, set some coordinates inside the house, and then put on the Thousand Mile Flying Boots once more.
Next, he planned to visit Saxili, the place Hart had mentioned. He was still quite interested in the beef there.
He opened the map, compared the directions, and took another step. Gale-force winds tore at him as the scenery around him rushed past.
This trip was much farther. After taking several hundred steps, he went off course again. Fortunately, even if he deviated, it would only be by a few kilometers at most. He could fly there in a moment.
Shaya actually knew a technique similar to Apparition from Harry Potter. In Hal's world, it was called Teleportation.
But Teleportation required a clear "target." For short distances where one could see the destination with the naked eye, it was simple enough. For long distances, one had to have been there before.
Otherwise, some unknowable accident might occur, similar to the aftereffects of Apparition in Harry Potter.
He slowly descended onto a high point in the town and looked around. This place offered a completely different sight from the Imperial Capital and Eagle's Horn Town.
The town was beautiful, with many wooden houses arranged neatly and orderly. Their roofs were all steep, narrow triangles painted red, yellow, blue, and green. Their long, narrow windows gave the houses a greater sense of depth, lending them an exotic charm.
There were also vast rolling plains and forests, where countless cattle and sheep grazed with their heads lowered, stretching all the way to the distant mountain range.
The mountains were blanketed in snow, while lush green grass spread below them. The two scenes created an intensely striking contrast.
If not for the fjord, this city surrounded by mountains might have been an isolated paradise beyond the world.
Yet the existence of the fjord had also made this a fertile land.
Fjords were the result of the joint action of glaciers and the sea. Tens of thousands of years ago, enormous glaciers carved up the coastal land, forming one valley after another.
When the glaciers melted, seawater flowed back into those valleys, forming fjords.
Looking at the fjord from town, the azure seawater was divided by mountains, resembling a longer lake. With the view obstructed, no one would imagine that this "lake" connected to the vast ocean.
Nor would anyone imagine that the number and size of ships this great lake could accommodate would be unimaginable.
Just as Hart had said, barbecue restaurants could be seen everywhere in town, and the rich aroma of grilled meat filled the streets.
Perhaps because of its geographical location, merchant ships from the East stopped here for supplies after passing through the Mediterranean, so there were many spices here.
He was very satisfied with this place. Next, he only needed to find an acquaintance to arrange a house for him.
Shaya had only one acquaintance here: Hart, whom he had met in the Imperial Capital.
He could sense Hart's Fate here.
It seemed Hart had escaped his destined calamity and successfully returned to his hometown.
Following Fate's guidance, he found a barbecue restaurant and sat down. It was still an open-air setting, but both the air and scenery were far better than in the Imperial Capital.
He was in no hurry to find Hart. Instead, he ordered a steak for today's lunch.
While he waited, a voice suddenly sounded beside his ear.
It was a language he had never heard before, yet he could clearly understand its meaning.
"You look much younger than before."
