Luo was accidentally sent crashing into the ruins, where AmbriO prepared a space-warping attack against him, Kira, and Athrun. Ange destroyed AmbriO’s mech and then met his second mech with a matching attack as the Dragon God Aura began escaping its seal, leaving the world engulfed in an enormous explosion.

• Basak’s blow sent Luo flying into the ruins of the Pillar of Dawn, and Xiao Ran confirmed that Luo was alive before sending Kira and Athrun to rescue him.
• AmbriO appeared above the ruins and charged a dimensional attack while Luo remained buried beneath the rubble.

The team arrived in the dimensional gap, where three projected Earths and AmbriO’s floating island, Yajenar, appeared. Xiao Ran recognized the Dragon God Aura’s role in bringing them there and led the machines toward the island, believing Ange was there too.

• The team found itself in a void between worlds and saw projections of the three Earths, which Renard explained would merge if their dimensional balance broke.
• Renard identified the floating island as Yajenar, AmbriO’s base, and recalled that AmbriO had brought him there before.

With the Eternal now part of the fleet, the meeting began as Xiao Ran asked everyone to share information and plan how to reach the New Era Calendar.

• After Setsuna described Xiao Ran’s battle with AmbriO, the Victory Fleet’s pilots trained harder to avoid being personally trained by Xiao Ran.
• Xiao Ran recovered from his exhaustion after seven days unconscious and had Mwu summon the warship captains and their representatives to the Burning Legion.

• The Federation forces attacked Tokyo-3, and NERV's personnel could only rely on the city's multilayered armor while awaiting the Victory Fleet.
• The Victory Fleet appeared above the burning city, and Xiao Ran handed battle command to Bright.
• Bright ordered the fleet to sortie and stop the Federation forces from reaching NERV's entrances.
• Amuro and Gido joined the defense as the fleet's mobile suits attacked the Federal Army, while Penelope engaged Hathaway's Gundam.

Ray Angel appeared between the Federation and the Victory Fleet, forcing both sides to pause their battle as the Apostle hovered near Tokyo-3. Misato Katsuragi took command of the Apostle engagement while Xiao Ran ordered the fleet to hold its line and privately urged Bright to use the crisis to challenge Federation General Headquarters' decision.

• Ray Angel appeared, and the Federation and Victory Fleet halted their fighting and withdrew to prepare for the Apostle.

• Moses identified the attackers as a huge New Zeon force advancing from the mountains and firing on the Victory Fleet.
• A New Zeon commander told Tessa that the Angel’s impact would destroy only Earth and that New Zeon intended to stop the fleet from reaching it.
• Ruri Hoshino ordered the Victory Fleet to intercept or eliminate New Zeon while assigned units continued fighting Ray Angel.

A second Angel appeared over the passage the Ray Angel had blasted into Tokyo-3, but Asuka arrived in Unit 2 and diverted it. As the Victory Fleet attacked the Ray Angel, Basak and the others pressed its AT Field while Angie and the two other EVAs were left watching.

• A second Angel appeared above the Ray Angel's deep passage, threatening to enter the underground space.
• Xiao Ran rushed from the bridge as the second Angel began diving into the opening.
• Asuka Langley Soryu launched Unit 2 from underground, diverted the Angel with Assault Rifle fire, and fought it with a high-vibration dagger.
• Misato introduced Asuka, who declared Unit 2 the true production model, while Sheryl mocked her claim over communications.

Meanwhile, New Zeon’s desperate attacks turned the battle against the Federal Army until Amuro, Kira, and Athrun intervened, leaving the opposing forces separated by the Victory Fleet.

• Basak led the pilots in destroying Ray Angel, and Ryoma urged Shinji to focus and help his companions.
