Xiao Ran helped Orb and ZAFT respond to the spreading alien attacks, then seized control of Free’s leadership from Glandon and set Shanamia’s people on a new course. The arc leaves Ovan fighting Alien Beasts on Earth as Xiao Ran prepares a deterrent strike against the Earth Force.

• Xiao Ran led Orb and ZAFT pilots against the Glatters forces, while the alien attacks and meteor-born monsters spread across Earth.
• Xiao Ran met with Patrick and Siegel, secured ZAFT’s help, and infiltrated Free to confront Glandon.
• Xiao Ran captured Glandon and Ovan, placed Free under lockdown, and backed Shanamia as she took charge.
• Xiao Ran exposed Glandon’s crimes and directed Free to aid Earth’s civilians while preparing to send a force to Earth.
• Ovan departed Free with more than two hundred units, landed on the Scandinavian Peninsula, and split his force between a city and an Alien Beast battlefield.
• Ovan ignored United Forces requests and joined the fight against the Alien Beasts, while Xiao Ran ordered preparations for a deterrent mission against an Earth Force base.

Xiao Ran led Frey to seize the Moon, then used its power and alliances to weaken the Earth Force and bring the Nadeshiko into his coalition. After a month of war and new campaigns against the Alien Beasts, he began recruiting Mwu into Fury.

• Shanamia declared war on the Earth Force and demanded that it leave the Moon Base, while Xiao Ran warned Nigal Heavy Industries not to join the conflict.
• Xiao Ran piloted the Clan Raft through Copernicus, destroyed its defense force, and marked the lunar surface outside Nigal Heavy Industries without attacking the facility.
• Xiao Ran and Fu led Frie forces in a battle that drove the Earth Force from the Moon, after which Xiao Ran sent troops to Earth and began awakening Frie citizens from stasis.
• Xiao Ran returned to the Apocalypse and led an operation at Heliopolis, where his forces captured Mwu and took Kira, Cagalli, and the others aboard.
• Yurika met Xiao Ran and then brought the Nadeshiko to the Moon Base, declaring that its crew would join him against the Earth Force’s crimes.
• Xiao Ran sent the Nadeshiko and other units on separate missions, then used Dawn to disable the Earth Force fleet at Heaven’s Pillar, allowing Orb to seize the station and its surrendered ships.
• PLANT allied with Frey, and Patrick, Ovan, and Frey fought the Earth Alliance for a month while Orb’s forces focused on the Alien Beasts.
• Xiao Ran summoned Mwu and asked her to leave the Earth Force and join Fury, saying he had brought her back because he did not want her to remain with it.

Xiao Ran drew new allies into Free, organized a coalition against the Earth Alliance, and secured Renard’s cooperation while investigating the Devil Legion and Mithril. As the Earth Force prepared for war, Alien Beasts, Jupiter Lizards, and the Glatters Army appeared, and Xiao Ran declared the Alliance would be destroyed within three days.

• Xiao Ran showed Mwu evidence of Earth Force’s crimes and urged her to join Free, then recruited Kira to train as a Knight and welcomed Kavina into the Frie Force.
• Lacus arrived at the Moon Base and agreed to help Xiao Ran manage Free, while PLANT and Frey signed cooperation agreements and Shanamia agreed to lead Frey’s relocation to Earth.
• After the Nadeshiko and Mithril encountered Devil Legion machines, Xiao Ran formed an independent fleet, recruited Master Asia to act alongside it, and sent Kira and Yaqi to join the Nadeshiko.
• Xiao Ran, Siegel, Patrick, and Asaha agreed to attack the Earth Alliance, while Xiao Ran pursued control of Mithril and Amalgam and arranged to meet Renard through Kowloon.
• Xiao Ran killed Gates, pressured Gauron to deliver Renard, then explained the Lambda System and offered Renard a deal to help dismantle Amalgam in exchange for answers and access to other-world technology.
• As the Earth Force mobilized against the joint Free and ZAFT fleet, Xiao Ran identified its new machines and volunteered to intercept a fleet near Artemis.
• Alien Beasts, Jupiter Lizards, and the Glatters Army struck across Earth and space, prompting Xiao Ran to call for a temporary withdrawal and declare that the Earth Force would cease to exist within three days.

Xiao Ran entered Quantum Assimilation to defeat the Iron Men, repel Earth's enemies, and destroy the Devil Gundam while rescuing Aiba Miyuki. He returned to the Moon Base and deactivated the dangerous state, leaving Lacus and Shanamia to manage the base while he lost consciousness.

• Xiao Ran took Dawn Tactical Armor into orbit, destroyed Alien Beasts, and lured out the Iron Men, killing Lance and Daga before capturing Ibilu and defeating Omega.
• Xiao Ran crushed Earth Force fleets and bases, stopped the Glatters Army, and returned to Moon Base, where he explained to Lacus and Shanamia that he could not leave Quantum Assimilation without becoming weak.
• Xiao Ran brought Aiba Shinyo out of the hospital and recruited Master Asia to help, while the Aiba brothers began searching for their missing sister Miyuki.
• Master Asia defeated Wong Yun Fat in HK as Xiao Ran destroyed the Death Legion, then joined the effort against the Devil Gundam in the Sahara.
• Xiao Ran found Miyuki inside the Devil Gundam, rescued her from its cockpit, and destroyed the machine, recovering its wreckage and DG Cells.
• Xiao Ran brought Miyuki to the Apocalypse for treatment, and Shinyo pledged himself to Xiao Ran in exchange for help protecting Miyuki and Takano.
• Miyuki warned Xiao Ran that Radam Flowers could turn humans into Iron Man base bodies, and Xiao Ran ordered their destruction before returning to Moon Base.
• Xiao Ran told Lacus and Shanamia to keep his condition secret, then deactivated Quantum Assimilation and collapsed in pain.
