Xiao Ran helped Char establish New Zeon, seize Granada, and prepare an assault on the Zabi family and the Flanagan Institute. The arc left El-Elf infiltrating the Zabi family’s satellite as the fleets prepared to strike.

• Char publicly accused the Zabi family of betraying Zeon, declared New Zeon’s establishment, and called on the oppressed to join him.
• Xiao Ran accepted a mission to occupy Granada Base, capture the Flanagan Institute, and kill two Zabi family members, then helped prepare Anaheim’s new Solar Furnace-equipped machines.
• Xiao Ran and Char led the assault on Granada, where GN-BITs and Dragon Fangs devastated Zeon’s defenses and forced the base to surrender.
• Xiao Ran took command of a Federation operation in Southeast Asia, recruited Shiro Amada into the Astray MS Battalion, and led the capture of Gihlias Sahalin and Aina Sahalin’s base.
• Xiao Ran helped Aina reunite with Shiro, recruited Gihren into Anaheim, and escaped the base before its nuclear self-destruction.
• Char told Xiao Ran that the Flanagan Institute was mass-producing Newtype machines, and Xiao Ran planned to capture its personnel and research while striking the Zabi family and their factory.
• Xiao Ran organized El-Elf’s team to infiltrate the Zabi family’s satellite, selected newcomers and machines for the operation, and departed with Char’s fleet for Zeon.
• El-Elf entered the satellite disguised as a Zeon recruit and targeted its administrative center to gather intelligence and secure the site.

Xiao Ran helped Char take control of Zeon, then returned to Prometheus and converted his next mission into a Legion operation. Back in 0079, he and his allies worked to stabilize New Zeon and resist the Federation while Axis uncovered the World Intruder, Ideon.

• El-Elf and the Capital Defense Force launched a coup that captured the Zabi family, while Xiao Ran forced the Flanagan Institute’s defenders to surrender and Degwin ordered Zeon to accept New Zeon’s takeover.
• Char reorganized Zeon, sought peace with the Federation, and sent Xiao Ran to deliver his proposal to General Revil, while Kycilia escaped with part of the Guard Force.
• Deguzuru bargained for Karma’s freedom before dying, and Prometheus awarded Xiao Ran’s team an Ultimate Mission Card that required them to transform the world and defeat a World Intruder.
• Xiao Ran returned to Prometheus, welcomed Cruze’s group into Burning Legion, arranged new equipment and enhancements, and upgraded the Legion’s facilities before converting the Ultimate Mission into Legion Mission Mode.
• Xiao Ran’s Legion entered 0079, where Luca discovered that New Zeon had joined the Federation and that Char faced assassination attempts, while the Federation had sidelined Revil and divided up the Astray Fleet.
• Xiao Ran sent Cruze and Skull Squadron to find Revil and recruit allies, while El-Elf, Graham, and Nalo took the Frontier to contact Char and investigate New Zeon.
• Kycilia and Karma ordered Axis to excavate an enormous mechanical arm found buried in an asteroid, unaware that the machine was Ideon, the mission’s World Intruder.

Xiao Ran overthrew the Federation’s control in Brown City, united New Zeon and defecting forces under the Earth Unified Government, and defeated the Federation fleet. As the conflict spread across Earth and space, the Unity Army prepared specialized units and launched an assault on a key Federal stronghold.

• Cruze recruited Federation personnel and traced General Revil to a guarded seaside villa, while Alto returned to the Moon with the rescue and uprising plans for Xiao Ran to review.
• Xiao Ran and El-Elf set the uprising in motion, and Cardias gathered Federation elites in Brown City under the pretense of discussing Xiao Ran’s Anaheim shares and the Space Jump Engine.
• White-armband forces attacked their opponents across Brown City as Zechs blockaded the city and Bobby’s Galaxy Diva devastated the Federal fleet outside it.
• Xiao Ran confronted the gathered elites and offered them a choice between joining his rebellion or dying, while Bill and Maxi’s representative declared the Moderate and Commoner Factions’ support.
• El-Elf purged Zabi loyalists from New Zeon, and General Revil joined Cruze’s organization after verifying its claim to preserve the Original Constitution.
• Xiao Ran and Char announced the Earth Unified Government, exposed the Federation’s wrongdoing, and called on its forces to join them, and Revil appeared on the broadcast and urged Federation troops to choose justice.
• Revil’s declaration triggered widespread defections, and Xiao Ran led the Unity Army against the Federal fleet, destroying its forces with the Justice Gundam, allied mecha, and Saki Maski’s Final Waltz.
• After the Federal fleet surrendered, Xiao Ran presented the Original Constitution, revealed the Federation’s Newtype experiments, and showed the world the FOLD Space Jump Engine, while the conflict settled into a broader stalemate.
• Kycilia prepared an alliance with the Federation against the Unity Army and sent Karma as a liaison and potential hostage, while Xiao Ran and Luo built specialized Astrays and trained their pilots.
• After a month of fighting, the Unity Army deployed its new units and attacked Federal Space Fortresses, and the Galaxy Diva’s cannon opened a breach, and Xiao Ran charged into the fleet in Justice Gundam Tactical Armor.

Xiao Ran’s Unity Army defeated the Federation’s space forces and pursued Axis after learning it held the Giant God Ideon. The fleet destroyed Ideon, but Sheryl collapsed after her song triggered a transformation in her V-Virus bloodline, leaving Xiao Ran to return with her in the medical pod.

• Xiao Ran’s forces surrounded the Federation fleet, secured its surrender, and destroyed the Federation headquarters as Unity took control of space.
• Xiao Ran ordered relief for civilians massacred by the Federation, learned of its EXAM and Blue Destiny projects, and discovered the relocated leadership was fortified beneath the Tahl Desert.
• Karma secured a Federation alliance for Zeon and led a transport fleet carrying supplies and civilians to Axis, while Xiao Ran let the transports pass in exchange for Unity personnel’s relatives and sent Jeffrey and Cruze to investigate Axis.
• El-Elf led an infiltration of Axis and found that its Giant God was nearly restored, then destroyed its control room and copied data before the machine activated and escaped.
• Ideon destroyed Axis and Kycilia’s fleet, then withstood the Frontier’s attacks as Xiao Ran’s forces searched for a way through its powerful shield.
• El-Elf identified a weakness in Ideon’s damaged chest, and Xiao Ran’s forces used Sheryl’s song to slow it while the Galaxy Diva and Frontier fired their Macross Cannons.
• The cannon fire collapsed Ideon’s shield, and Savage struck its arm into the distortion that swallowed the Giant God and caused its explosion.
• Sheryl collapsed after the battle, and Xiao Ran learned that her V-Virus bloodline was transforming before ordering the Galaxy Diva to return and staying beside her.
