Background

The Blood Immortal Sect rose to prominence thousands of years before the main story. Its followers spread across the Nine Provinces Continent “like a plague,” destroying dynasties, kingdoms, and aristocratic families. Great Xia ultimately allied with multiple Immortal Sects and fought the sect for centuries, forcing it into retreat after severely wounding it. 36

During its previous rise, the sect sought to establish a doctrine ruling the entire Nine Provinces: imperial dynasties and Immortal Sects were expected to submit, while those who refused were annihilated. The resulting devastation was remembered as the Dark Blood Era, with cities emptied and corpses covering mountains and forests. 72

The sect originally hailed from Dongyuan Province, where its first great calamity began. 118 Its legacy is tied to the Blood Immortal Old Ancestor, Xue Wu, who once nearly unified the Nine Provinces Continent. 228

Beliefs and Organization

The sect publicly frames its creed around salvation, declaring:

“The Sacred Fire will not extinguish, the Holy Cult will not perish. Blood Immortal pities the world and saves all beings…” 110

Its internal structure includes Elders, Guardians, and numerous cult members. At least one Elder possesses Seventh Realm cultivation, while other Guardians were mobilized for major operations. 110

Membership and loyalty are verified through blood rituals. Blood poured into altars activates blood-red runes within each participant; the intensity of the projected light indicates the sincerity of their faith. Impostors or insufficiently devout members are immediately eliminated. 110

During the Southern Hunt operation, the sect coordinated with the Barbarian Race, caused chaos in the Qianyuan Cave Realm, targeted the imperial palace, and stole the Dragon Suppressing Seal. 138 140 141

The Xia Emperor later resolved to eradicate the sect after learning of its plan against the National Artifact. 134 Its continued existence was regarded by Immortal Sects and Dao Lineages as a hidden tumor and a potential demonic disaster. 206

Despite its resurgence, the sect suffered repeated setbacks.
