They had a communication function, and nearly all animals had been proven to possess pheromones.

Chang Wei had considered the possibility of a Four-armed Hunter discovering Alex Mercer and then being devoured, which was why he had acquired the Pheromone ability. In any case, he now had enough Gene Points and abundant Blacklight Virus energy. He could evolve even without using the system.
