Chang Wei, Unfathomable

Chang Wei did not dodge or even block. He simply allowed the spikes formed by the Blacklight Virus to pierce through him.

"That's It?"

He took a step forward and detached himself from the spikes as though unaffected.

It was Alex's first time seeing Grave Spike Assassination fail. To Chang Wei, neither the impact of the massive spikes erupting from the ground nor their body-piercing force could inflict any harm. It was like the super armor state in a game!

In truth, Chang Wei had merely Strengthened his neural reaction speed. Combined with the changes in his body, he could now control himself down to the cellular level, achieving an effect similar to "elementalizing in advance" to evade attacks.

It was highly difficult. If he failed to dodge, he would have to take a Grave Spike Assassination head-on, though it would not amount to much for him.

"Don't you have anything stronger?"

Chang Wei had been hoping to see something different from Alex, but everything Alex had displayed so far was something he already knew. After all, he had only just played Prototype before being transported here.

He could not claim to know Alex inside out, but he understood at least seventy or eighty percent of him.

Under such circumstances, the only way Alex could defeat him was if something unknown happened.

However, Alex did not seem to possess such a trump card.

"Deadly Pain!"

Naturally, Alex had not shouted it aloud. That would have been far too embarrassing, and it would also have underestimated Chang Wei's neural reaction speed. Only a sneak attack could work!

Yet Chang Wei directly grabbed the enormous tentacle. Then, while Alex was still stunned, he released a powerful acid from his hand and corroded Alex's tentacle away.

"Aaaaaaah!!!"

The powerful acid was unimaginably lethal to the Blacklight Virus, especially a Blacklight Virus that had never encountered it or adapted to it. Alex was in such agony that he wished he were dead, experiencing pain several levels worse than childbirth.

Chang Wei's powerful acid was no ordinary acid. It could indiscriminately corrode both organic and inorganic matter because he had used the Blacklight Virus to create a mixed acid.

Normally, the Blacklight Virus maintained the coexistence of this mixed acid, preventing leakage and chemical reactions. It contained powerful oxidizers, fluoroantimonic acid, nitric acid, a THF solution mixed with the two gases HF and HCl, carborane acid, and more.

"How does the digestive fluid of a pitcher plant feel?"

Even now, Chang Wei did not tell the truth, merely misleading Alex.

The Prototype whose core was Alex's memories quickly understood what Chang Wei meant.

The Blacklight Virus could replicate and imitate the genetic information of infected hosts!

No wonder Chang Wei was so strong. Why had he never thought of that?

"My Blacklight Virus has been mixed with this digestive fluid and specifically evolved predatory measures against the Blacklight Virus. My blood and cells are all this digestive fluid. It's impossible for you to absorb me."

Chang Wei smiled.

You could do that???

Alex's pupils contracted. He felt that he was no match for Chang Wei at all. A single sentence from Chang Wei had frightened him out of his wits. There were countless creatures on Earth, and innumerable creatures possessed special abilities. Who knew how many organisms Chang Wei had absorbed and evolved from while hiding away and keeping a low profile?

He was completely unfathomable!

Alex gave up on fighting Chang Wei to the death now. Once he left, he would follow Chang Wei's evolutionary method.

Only then would he have the strength to fight Chang Wei!

"You can't run, Alex," Chang Wei suddenly said.

"Hmph."

Alex ignored him.

"Your sister is in my hands," Chang Wei said.

Alex's expression changed dramatically.

After suffering his ex-girlfriend's betrayal and learning his true identity, Alex naturally craved the things only a human could have even more—such as a sister.

"I created quite a few Hunters to stare at your every move. In addition, you had no intention of hiding at all, so it wasn't strange that I found your base."

Chang Wei liked preparing trump cards for himself, especially in life-or-death situations. Even if he felt completely certain that Alex could not absorb him in reverse, he had still evolved measures to counter being absorbed, as well as a hostage he did not know would be foolproof and could only gamble on.

By this point, Alex had most likely learned that he was merely a revived virus, not the real Alex.

So would he still care so much about "Alex's" sister, Dana?

The facts proved that Chang Wei had underestimated Alex's pursuit, longing, and regard for family.

"What do you want?"

Alex was enraged, directly entering Armor Form and Blade Form.

"Hahahaha, don't worry. I just don't want you to leave. As for making you give up resistance and let me absorb you, I doubt you'd agree..."

The Blacklight Virus spread from Chang Wei's feet, rapidly covering the surroundings. Alex stared at the Blacklight Virus warily, only to discover that it had actually formed a black-and-red space.

"Come on. Only one of us gets to leave alive!"
