Chang Wei appeared to have already suppressed Alex. Endless tendrils continuously wore down Chang Wei's strong acid, trying to outlast him.

At the same time, in the Myriad Tendrils state, the hard Blacklight Virus of the Black Coffin was gradually being devoured, just like water dripping through stone or a rope sawing through wood.

But Chang Wei quickly retaliated.

Just like with Elizabeth Greene, the system notifications flooded the screen. Chang Wei could feel his Super Blacklight Virus being completed and evolving once again.

Alex appeared to be utterly outclassed by Chang Wei in every respect, but he had his own merits as well. That was why Chang Wei refused to let him go. What he pursued was perfection—the strongest!

"Very good. Next comes this world..."

Chang Wei absorbed the Black Coffin back into his body, lest anything be left behind that could allow Alex to revive.

After seeing that most areas had already fallen and the battle situation had deteriorated beyond repair, General Randall, Black Watch's highest commander, finally decided to leave by helicopter. He would then use a nuclear bomb to cleanse Manhattan Island, because he no longer had any trump cards left to play.

The strongest Super Soldier and Captain Robert were both dead. More than half of the Marine Corps and Black Watch soldiers had also been lost. Manhattan Island was already out of control and could no longer be contained.

The Super Blacklight Virus creatures showed no reaction to the Blood Virus. The Super Blacklight Virus within them could no longer even be called the Blacklight Virus—it had completely surpassed it.

The cities beyond the bridges had also fallen. Anubis and the Four-armed Hunters spread incredibly quickly.

But this was not over yet.

Chang Wei's attention was no longer on the nuclear bomb launched by Black Watch. If Manhattan Island and the subordinates he had stationed there were destroyed, then so be it. He was now a walking natural disaster, capable of spreading the virus wherever he went. Besides, Chang Wei now had a more important target.

That was The Jester!

The Jester, originally named Jason Greene, was the child Elizabeth Greene gave birth to after becoming infected with the Blacklight Virus while pregnant.

"The Jester may be the only thing capable of stopping Mercer and Greene. They may not be enough for me to understand exactly what the Jester is, but I can make a guess. He may be the perfect expression of all non-coding genomes, the ultimate evolutionary goal of every form of life on Earth."

The Jester was the codename Black Watch gave to Elizabeth Greene's son. This child was a perfect creation of the Blacklight Virus.

His form of existence was believed to be completely different from Elizabeth Greene, Alex Mercer, and James Heller.

Elizabeth Greene came into being through an imperfect release of the genome's non-coding regions, while Mercer was an artificial release.

Black Watch scientists speculated that The Jester might be the ultimate form of life on Earth.

He was the primary test subject of the Jihad Project. During the thirty-four years he was imprisoned for it, he killed five people through unknown means. It could not be determined whether they died from his antisocial behavior or viral infection.

He had no apparent physical defects, and all tests involving the fourteen viruses within Greene came back negative.

Alex Mercer and The Jester could be said to have quite a few similarities. Alex's existence was an artificial release of the genome's non-coding regions, while The Jester was the opposite—a perfect natural release.

Therefore, Dr. Raymond McMullen believed that if Mercer encountered The Jester, it would lead to catastrophic consequences.
