"Hey, Taozi, are you done with your training?"
Chen Mo called Jiang Tao as he walked down the stairs.
His weapons and backpack were all with Jiang Tao.
"Just finished. I grabbed your stuff. Let's meet up in the gym lobby."
"Alright!"
After agreeing and chatting a bit, Chen Mo hung up.
He'd earned another hundred thousand today, so Chen Mo hummed a tune in high spirits.
"Now that I've got money, there's no need to work so hard as a sparring partner."
With that, Chen Mo opened the Wuji Martial Arts Gym app and changed the booking times on his registered sparring partner page.
He canceled all the one-hour slots from Monday to Friday evenings, leaving only the eight hours on Saturday and Sunday.
Even at two hundred per hour, weekends alone would net him 3,200. Plus, he could still earn coaching fees by giving pointers.
Coaching fees were where the real money was.
Chen Mo had already tasted the sweetness. There were plenty of people like Li Mengxue who were loaded.
Ten thousand an hour seemed pretty reasonable.
Thinking about his knack for making money, Chen Mo couldn't help but chuckle to himself.
"My old man makes eight thousand a month, and here I am, making ten thousand an hour. Hehehe..."
"Just pocketed a hundred thousand—more than Dad's yearly salary..."
"This lord is so happy today..."
Chen Mo's singing echoed through the stairwell.
If there had been anyone else using the stairs, they'd probably have thought he was an idiot.
Halfway down, his excitement finally settled.
"Calm down, calm down! Those martial artists rake in hundreds of thousands or millions at a time. My hundred thousand is nothing."
"My sister's treatment costs at least a hundred million. What's this hundred thousand?"
Thinking about that, Chen Mo stopped getting carried away.
The reason he was so worked up wasn't the sudden hundred thousand, but how easy he found making money.
In neither of his two lifetimes' memories had cash flowed this fast.
But now that his emotions had cooled, he realized it wasn't a big deal. He'd just gotten too excited.
Chen Mo reflected. He needed to control his emotions in the future and not lose himself to money.
He had to see the essence: the stronger your strength, the easier it was to earn money.
So, strength was the core.
Reining in his thoughts, Chen Mo hurried downstairs. Reaching the gym lobby, he quickly found Jiang Tao and took his things.
"Mozi! I missed you all afternoon!"
Chen Mo immediately stepped back.
"Don't be weird! This is a public place."
Jiang Tao glanced around and saw no one paying them any attention, but he dropped the act anyway.
"Fine. Mozi, how did the sparring go? Who'd you run into? Any hot girls?"
"Of course there were, and a real stunner at that!" Chen Mo smiled faintly. "Want to know who?"
"Do we know her? An old acquaintance? Someone from our class?"
Jiang Tao was a bit surprised but quickly shook his head. "If it was from our class, she'd have come down with you. Definitely not our class."
"Of course it's not our class!" Chen Mo kept it mysterious.
"Not our class? Is there any beauty we both know?"
Jiang Tao suddenly caught on. "Mozi, you're messing with me, aren't you?"
"Why would I mess with you? Come on, I made some money today. I'll buy you a drink."
"Hey, don't walk so fast! Then tell me, who did you run into?" Jiang Tao saw Chen Mo already a few meters ahead and quickly caught up.
Seeing Jiang Tao had caught up, Chen Mo stopped teasing. He leaned in and whispered in Jiang Tao's ear, "This afternoon, I was sparring with Li Mengxue. The big School Beauty—isn't she a stunner? Don't we both know her?"
"Li Mengxue is definitely a stunner, and we both know her, but I don't believe you're that lucky. Your first sparring gig and it's her?"
Jiang Tao looked utterly skeptical.
Li Mengxue was an aloof School Beauty. Even the sons of wealthy families found it hard to get close to her, let alone ordinary guys like them.
To land her on his first job was no different from winning the lottery.
"Fine, don't believe me then!"
Chen Mo didn't bother explaining. The truth was, no one would believe him anyway.
He also didn't want to make a big deal out of it—it might stir up trouble.
Thinking of the consequences, Chen Mo quickly changed his tune:
"Haha, I was just messing with you! I didn't run into any beauties today."
"Women only slow down my blade-drawing speed. Same goes for you!"
As he spoke, Chen Mo grabbed the drink the vending machine had dispensed and handed it to Jiang Tao.
Then he took his own bottle, twisted off the cap, and started drinking.
"True enough. Boosting strength is what really matters."
Jiang Tao echoed the sentiment, twisted off his cap, and took a big gulp.
"Let's go!"
The two walked out of the martial arts hall together. Chen Mo suddenly said:
"Taozi, I'm thinking of hitting the supermarket. You coming?"
"Sure! Nothing better to do anyway."
Jiang Tao had no objections. They'd been training all afternoon, so it was a good time to unwind.
They headed to the supermarket near the martial arts hall.
Once inside, Chen Mo went straight to the meat section and bought three jin of Fierce Beast Meat.
This time, he picked the better quality stuff—five hundred bucks a jin.
The regular kind was just over a hundred, but it had less blood energy and tasted worse.
With over a hundred thousand on hand, treating himself a bit wasn't a big deal.
After buying the meat, he moved to the snack aisle and grabbed some kids' treats and compressed meat jerky.
Compressed meat jerky was made from Fierce Beast Meat packed with energy, used to replenish stamina during training and stave off hunger.
"Mozi, no need to buy compressed jerky. The pharmacy's selling Blood Infusion Pills now—they cover the energy you burn during training."
Seeing Chen Mo tossing handfuls of compressed jerky into the cart, Jiang Tao quickly stopped him.
"Blood Infusion Pills? Those exist? The clerk at the pharmacy didn't mention them yesterday."
Chen Mo was a bit puzzled. He'd bought a bunch of pills yesterday, and the clerk hadn't brought them up.
"Blood Infusion Pills work just like compressed jerky—they supply energy for training, but they don't have any blood energy."
"They're lower grade than Qi and Blood Pills, only good for filling your stomach. No cooldown period, and no side effects from taking them back-to-back."
"They cost five hundred a pop and last a day, but they taste awful."
"Maybe you didn't ask, so the clerk didn't mention it. We'll check when we go later."
From Jiang Tao's explanation, Chen Mo realized the Blood Infusion Pill was basically a Grain Abstinence Pill. With something that good, why hadn't the clerk recommended it?
That way, he wouldn't have to worry about hunger anymore.
After all, when he was analyzing the Stance Training, if he hadn't taken Qi and Blood Pills, he wouldn't have had enough energy to train.
"In that case, I'll skip the jerky. We'll grab some Blood Infusion Pills at the pharmacy later."
At the kids' section, Chen Mo picked out a fluffy little bear toy for his sister and grabbed two packs of toothpicks. His shopping was done.
Jiang Tao chose some snacks he liked.
After paying and stepping out of the supermarket, Jiang Tao immediately transferred his share of the money to Chen Mo.
Chen Mo tried to refuse, but Jiang Tao insisted. In the end, Chen Mo gave in and accepted the payment.
At the pharmacy, Chen Mo spent five thousand on ten Blood Infusion Pills, then he and Jiang Tao parted ways to head home.
