Background

Yaoye was raised from childhood to become the future Empress of the Jia Ma Empire. Aware that the Royal Family was shaped by suspicion and intrigue, she believed strength was necessary to secure the throne. Her first interest in the Xiao Family was both political and personal: its rising geniuses, together with the Nalan Family and Misty Cloud Sect, could eventually threaten royal authority. 2
