History

The Jia Ma Empire was initially ruled by the Royal Family under Jia Xingtian's protection. The royal court maintained spies throughout the empire, monitoring local factions and talents such as the Xiao Family's two ten-year-old Ninth Stage Dou Qi prodigies. Jia Xingtian regarded the possibility of two future Dou Huangs emerging from a single family as a matter of national concern. 1

Yaoye was raised from childhood to become the empire's Empress. Her political education and the Royal Family's atmosphere of intrigue shaped her early interest in recruiting talented figures who could reinforce her future rule. This led her and Jia Xingtian to visit the Xiao Family, where she arranged a secret engagement with Xiao Shuang and supplied him with cultivation resources as both a personal and political investment. 2 6 7 22

The empire's conflict with the Misty Cloud Sect escalated after the sect targeted the Xiao Family.
