Background / History

Zi Ji is one of the Ferocious Beasts of the Star Dou Great Forest. When the Three-Eyed Golden Lion—the forest's Auspicious Beast—disappears, she and Scarlet King track her to Jiang Zhen's camp and demand her release. Their pressure is severe enough to immobilize Shui Bing'er, Xue Wu, and Yu Hairou before Jiang Zhen shields them. 136 137

Her confrontation with Jiang Zhen turns into a one-sided battle after he repeatedly outmaneuvers her in her Hell Demon Dragon form, stands on her back, and eventually restrains her by the throat. Di Tian and Bi Ji intervene before Jiang Zhen kills her, after which Zi Ji is forced to recognize the disparity in their strength. 138

Following Jiang Zhen's agreement with Gu Yue Na, Zi Ji and Bi Ji are assigned to accompany and protect the transformed Auspicious Beast in the Human World. Zi Ji accepts reluctantly, then serves as transport while the group leaves the Star Dou Great Forest. 141 142
