The Antimatter Factory could be built.

After the Grand Unified Theory had been realized, humanity had begun planning for this. By now, construction was underway. The materials used to build the factory came from humanity's reserves, as well as the leftover materials from the construction of the Astronomical-Level Particle Collider years ago.

However, while the factory could be built, antimatter production had yet to reach a large scale. The reason was that humanity had little material left. Or rather, within this region of space, the resources humanity could use had nearly been exhausted. The rocky planets in all eight Star Systems had basically been hollowed out by humanity. The only resources humanity could still use were the gaseous planets and the supplies that had originally remained.

Moreover, the antimatter production process was not very efficient. It required vast amounts of matter and energy to be converted into a small amount of antimatter through the Antimatter Factory. At present, humanity had no other solution, because it had not found a more efficient way to produce antimatter.

Based on the projected efficiency of humanity's Antimatter Factory, more than ten thousand tons of matter often had to be consumed to produce one ton of antimatter. Those ten thousand-plus tons included the fuel consumed and the materials used in antimatter production. It should be noted that the factory's energy system was still powered by Nuclear Fusion, an inexpensive and readily available energy source. Energy was generated through fusion reactions, then converted through the Antimatter Factory into the antimatter humanity needed.

Humanity had supposedly stepped into a Level 4 Civilization, yet it was still using Nuclear Fusion energy. That might have seemed a little unimpressive, but it had to be understood that energy sources and energy itself were different concepts.
