A Second Pokémon (Please Bookmark, Please vote)

Early in the morning, Eichi rushed to the Beautiful Nursery. Aunt Keiko had just started work when she saw him running over.

She asked curiously, "Eichi, why are you here so early today?"

Eichi stopped and explained to Aunt Keiko, "I came to borrow an Incubator."

Aunt Keiko asked, "Did you pick up another Pokémon Egg?"

Eichi said, "Uh, I didn't pick this one up. If I told you this Pokémon Egg was given to me by a Heracross, would you believe me?"

One look at Aunt Keiko's expression told Eichi that she did not believe him.

Eichi did not have time to convince Aunt Keiko, so he could only ask Keiko to quickly take him to the Incubation Room.

When they arrived at the Incubation Room, it was the same as last time. Aunt Keiko operated the equipment while Eichi placed the Pokémon Egg on the incubation platform. Several other Pokémon Eggs were incubating there as well.

After working on a screen nearby, Keiko said to Eichi, "Eichi, this Pokémon Egg of yours may take another two days to hatch."

"You can come by over the next two days. Once there are any signs of hatching, I'll notify you."

Eichi thanked her. "Then I'll have to trouble you, Aunt Keiko. Sorry for bothering you again this time."

Aunt Keiko replied politely, "It's fine. It's nothing much."

As the two of them went downstairs, Aunt Keiko suddenly asked, "Was that Pokémon Egg really given to you by a Heracross?"

"What do you mean, given by a Heracross?"

A pleasant voice suddenly came from beside them.

Turning around, Eichi saw that it was Amelie. She looked at him with genuine curiosity.

Eichi could only tell the two of them about how Heracross had given him the Pokémon Egg yesterday.

After hearing it, Amelie and Aunt Keiko were completely speechless. They did not even know what to say!

Why was his luck so good? How had he encountered something like that?

"Hehe."

Eichi could only laugh awkwardly.

With nothing else to do, Eichi went home to train.

Location: Eichi's home

After returning home, Eichi remembered that he had not used the TMs he had bought. Eager to try them, he released Beedrill and took the TMs and the device from his backpack.

He inserted the TM for Double Team into the device.

After taking out two clamps and adjusting them, he secured them to Beedrill's head.

Eichi asked Beedrill solemnly, "Are you ready?"

Beedrill nodded, and Eichi flipped the switch.

A current immediately flowed from the machine into Beedrill's head.

Beedrill closed its eyes. More than ten minutes passed like that.

The machine stopped operating, and Beedrill opened its eyes.

Eichi asked curiously, "How was it? Did you learn it?"

Beedrill nodded, indicating that it had learned the move.

Eichi then used the same method to teach Beedrill Brick Break and Hidden Power as well.

After about an hour, Beedrill had learned all three moves.

Seeing Beedrill impatient to try out its new moves, Eichi took it to the Small Woods to test them.

After arriving at the Small Woods, he first had Beedrill fly around for more than ten laps to warm up.

After energetically flying more than ten laps, Beedrill moved its joints a little, and its warm-up was complete.

Then it was time for the real thing. Eichi gave the command, "Beedrill, use Double Team!"

Beedrill hovered in the air and swayed slightly. Four Beedrill suddenly appeared out of thin air, then the four doubles disappeared after a moment.

Eichi nodded, then took out a humanoid target and said, "Beedrill, use Brick Break on the target."

A red glow flared in Beedrill's eyes as it charged forward. Its left stinger shone white before it fiercely chopped down on the humanoid target.

The target shook violently. The power seemed pretty good.

Last was Hidden Power. The Hidden Power used by every Pokémon was different.

Eichi was very curious about what type of power Beedrill had awakened.

Beedrill gathered the energy within its body in midair. An electric arc suddenly sprang from its exterior, then a second, then a third.

Before long, electric arcs covered the space around Beedrill. It then fired all of them at a tree.

A tree not far away was immediately reduced to charcoal.

Eichi finally knew what type of power Beedrill had awakened.

It was Electric-type. Eichi was a little surprised.

After using all three moves, it was clear that Beedrill had only just learned them and could merely execute them.

It was still not proficient with them, and Beedrill seemed far from satisfied.

So Eichi had Beedrill keep using the three moves, letting it enjoy itself to the fullest.

Today was the third day. Filled with anticipation, Eichi arrived at the Beautiful Nursery, where Aunt Keiko and Amelie were both in the Incubation Room.

When they saw Eichi, they greeted him, then all turned their attention to the platform.

All three of them were curious about what kind of Pokémon Heracross had given Eichi.

Before long, the Pokémon Egg began to shake, and Eichi's heart rose into his throat.

The Pokémon Egg radiated a burst of white light, then slowly transformed into a bipedal Pokémon.

When the white light faded, they could finally see it clearly.

It resembled a bipedal insectoid creature. Three distinct horns stood atop its reptilian head, while its forearms were two white scythes used for hunting and battle. Its thighs were covered in spiky fur, and each foot had three clawed toes.

It was a Scyther!

Scyther, the Mantis Pokémon

Type: Bug, Flying

Ability: Swarm, Technician

Hidden Ability: Steadfast

It confused prey with ninja-like agile movements, then sliced them apart with its scythes in the instant they let their guard down.

When young, they lived in groups deep in the mountains, training to battle with their scythes and use Agility.

The newly hatched Scyther looked over the three people in front of it one by one before finally throwing itself into Eichi's arms.

Under Amelie and Aunt Keiko's gazes, a smug smile appeared on Eichi's face.

The newborn Scyther was not yet as aloof or fierce as other Scyther.

This Scyther was still tiny and looked adorably goofy. It babbled in Eichi's arms.

Eichi released Beedrill so it could meet the newest member of Eichi's growing family.

Beedrill emerged and brought its large eyes close to Scyther, curiously studying its future little brother.

After seeing that the hatched Pokémon was a Scyther, Aunt Keiko and Amelie said in surprise, "A Scyther? That's quite a rare Bug-type Pokémon."

"I'm getting a little jealous of your good luck."

Eichi then let Aunt Keiko and Amelie take turns holding Scyther.

The newly born Scyther really was adorable, and neither woman wanted to put it down.

Afterward, Aunt Keiko explained some Scyther-related training knowledge to Eichi. It was obvious that they both liked Scyther very much.
