Bruno said, "Life is about constantly challenging powerful opponents in order to surpass yourself."
Eichi said, "Then could Elite Bruno give me some guidance?"
Bruno froze for a moment, then thought it over. "Of course."
Eichi smiled. "Thank you very much, Elite Bruno."
An hour and a half later, Eichi walked back along the road, having gained a great deal.
For the previous hour, Eichi had been asking Bruno about Pokémon training.
As expected of an Elite Four member, both his mindset and his techniques were top-tier.
He had his own unique understanding of all kinds of Pokémon training methods and battle strategies.
Only after listening did Eichi realize that Bruno had gone incredibly easy on him in their earlier battle.
Even though Elite Bruno had held back, being able to defeat even one Pokémon under those circumstances was enough to show Eichi's strength.
Especially the things Bruno explained to him at the end about the so-called great secret manual.
There was no such great secret manual at all. Bruno believed that becoming the strongest required constant training and building rapport with one's Pokémon.
This battle with Bruno had also benefited him tremendously. Beedrill, Scizor, and Golisopod had all leveled up, gaining an average of one level each.
Eichi felt even more confident about the selection trial half a year from now.
As he was thinking this, a roar suddenly came from nearby. Several figures immediately appeared before him.
Eichi saw three Persian and four Houndoom, with other Pokémon scattered around them at varying levels.
He smiled. "Looks like everyone isn't too welcoming."
He took out three Poké Balls and tossed them into the air. "Time to get moving."
Beedrill, Heracross, and Armaldo appeared before the Pokémon.
"Beedrill, use Twin Needles!"
"Heracross, use Horn Attack!"
"Armaldo, use Rock Smash!"
