Background

Tsunade is Senju Hashirama's granddaughter and a direct Senju descendant. She and her younger brother Nawaki no longer use the Senju surname following the clan's civilianization. The Land of Fire's Daimyo personally recognized her as Konoha's princess, giving her exceptional standing within the village from an early age. 2 76

She became Kushina Uzumaki's guardian, personally protecting her in place of the Anbu and fiercely defending her against those who sought to control the Nine-Tails jinchūriki.
