New Semester, Old Show!

As Hawk rode the school bus towards Midtown High School, he learned about Peter and Harry's acquaintance from their own words.

Though he already knew.

Peter's parents had been researchers at Osborn Bio-Industry when they were still alive.

Both of them.

Due to their research, Peter's parents often took him to Osborn Bio-Industry when they went to work.

It was during that time that Peter and Harry met and became close friends.

Later, after Peter's parents died in a plane crash, Peter didn't go to Osborn Bio-Industry much anymore. However, Harry, who already considered Peter a friend, would visit him whenever he had free time.

Their relationship never broke, even in high school. Although Harry went to study in England, they kept in touch by phone.

Today was Harry's first day transferring to Midtown High School, so he came early in the morning to find his good friend Peter.

When Hawk heard this news, he couldn't help but be taken aback, and then offered his condolences.

"I'm sorry for your loss."

"It's okay."

Peter smiled.

His Uncle Ben had taught him one thing with his life.

With great power comes great responsibility.

These days, whenever Peter acted as a vigilante, he always felt like his Uncle Ben was by his side, which made him feel less sad.

The school bus drove at a steady pace.

About half an hour later, the school bus, quite full of students, smoothly entered the Midtown High School parking lot under the steady driving of the big-bearded Hall.

As soon as the doors opened, students began to disembark one after another.

"Hi, good morning, Gwen."

"Hey, good morning."

"Gwen, long time no see."

"Long time no see."

"Gwen, please tell me we have a homecoming dance."

"We do, it's tradition, Mark."

Gwen, standing in the parking lot at that moment, was smiling and chatting with her classmates who were getting off their cars or disembarking from school buses arriving from all directions of New York City.

Just then.

Hawk, following Peter and the new student Harry who were walking ahead, got off the school bus with his shoulder bag.

Gwen's eyes lit up.

Just as she was about to go greet them, her vision blurred. In front of Hawk, a person suddenly appeared.

A woman with thick, black hair that cascaded down like a waterfall.

Midtown High School's sexy and charming head cheerleader, known for her captivating, foxy eyes and widely admired.

Gwen subconsciously stopped in her tracks, her delicate eyebrows furrowing.

"Hey, Gwen." Mary Jane, who had just gotten out of her car, walked up to Gwen and patted her shoulder. "What are you looking at?"

As Mary Jane spoke, she followed Gwen's gaze.

She also saw Jennifer, dressed scantily and showing off her perfect figure, blocking Hawk's path.

"Uh."

"Jennifer."

"Good heavens, she's not giving up yet."

Mary Jane looked away after a moment, shaking her head speechlessly. "Is she really determined to achieve the goal of asking Hawk to be her dance partner every semester for all four years of high school?"

Gwen, standing beside her, spoke with a cool voice.

"Not every semester."

"Hmm?"

Mary Jane blinked, instinctively glancing at Gwen.

Gwen's voice was calm.

"At the June prom, Jennifer also invited Hawk, but Hawk didn't agree."

"As if Hawk would ever attend a prom."

Mary Jane retorted, then suddenly paused, feeling like she'd stumbled upon something. She turned to look at Gwen beside her.

Gwen didn't say anything, just narrowed her eyes, watching Hawk from afar as he got off the school bus.

Jennifer Chuck, the cheerleading captain, who was happily greeting Hawk.

"Hi, Hawk, happy new semester."

"Happy new semester, Jennifer."

As the school's cheerleading captain, Jennifer was never short of admirers.

And she had never missed any prom.

But none of those male partners were Hawk.

"Jennifer, you know I won't attend prom."

"But if you were to attend prom, you would invite me as your dance partner, right?"

"Yes, if I were to attend, but I won't."

"That's exactly what I wanted to hear, Hawk."

"Goodbye."

Jennifer got the answer she wanted.

What she couldn't have, no one else would have.

That was enough. This way, even if she didn't succeed in inviting him, she wouldn't lose anything.

So, after getting the answer she wanted, Jennifer, with a bright smile, leaned in and kissed Hawk's cheek, leaving a lasting impression, then happily waved goodbye and left.

Hawk watched Jennifer, who had come and gone like a gust of wind, shaking his head speechlessly. Then, he looked at Gwen standing not far away and walked over.

Gwen smiled as she watched Hawk approach.

"Inviting you to prom?"

"Did you agree?"
