History

Great God Pangu cleaved apart heaven and earth, and his body became the Primordial Wilderness. His repeated transformations produced manifestations including Nüwa and Houtu, while his primordial spirit divided into the Three Pure Ones. Humanity, born from Nüwa's yellow clay, later rose to become the protagonist race of heaven and earth. 1

Following the Investiture of the Gods Calamity, the Three Pure Ones fractured, the sages withdrew, and the once-grand world declined into the Earthly Immortal Realm. It was divided into the Four Great Continents, while only a small overseas realm remained beyond them. 1

Taiqing's transmission of the Primordial Dao-Forging Method gave innumerable beings access to cultivation and began a sequence of world upgrades. The world's spiritual energy, territorial scale, stability, resources, and the cultivation prospects of its inhabitants expanded repeatedly. 5 25 36

The world's growth directly conflicted with Hongjun's plans. Hongjun had sought its decline because a weaker world would reduce the Heavenly Dao's position and further his own merger with the Dao; its recovery and advancement therefore undermined his long-term scheme. 25

During the later conflict with the Primordial Chaos Divine Realm, the world became a target for absorption. The Primordial Chaos Dao Venerable and the Five Primordial Chaos Ancestors sought to consume its Heavenly Dao, while its sages and inhabitants united to defend it. 138 186 206 208

Near the end of the Immeasurable Tribulation, Wuji discovered that the entity acting as the Primordial World's Heavenly Dao was an outsider from the Void Sacred Hall that had plotted against Pangu during the world's creation. Wuji captured and later killed it, then opened the Universal Great World as a new home for the surviving Primordial World factions. 349 350

Appearance

The Primordial Wilderness began as a world formed from Pangu's transformed body. Its geography and cosmological structure repeatedly changed as it evolved.

• After its post-Investiture decline, it existed as the Earthly Immortal Realm, divided into the Four Great Continents. 1
• Its evolution raised the Thirty-Third Heaven, created new celestial towers and earthly rings, enlarged the four seas, and caused Buzhou Mountain to rise again. 36

The Primordial Wilderness can increase its own level and Origin Force, with each evolution strengthening its laws, territory, spiritual environment, and inhabitants.
