Arc 9The Land of Snow Conspiracy

Soji helped Minato defeat the Third Mizukage, then encountered Sato Taro while traveling and agreed to investigate Kazahana Dōtō’s conspiracy in the Land of Snow. The arc ended with Soji and Sato Taro confronting two Snow Ninjas aboard a train secretly being converted into a military vehicle.

  • Soji treated his Soul Frostbite with Tsunade’s help, then refined his Ice Release and traveled to the Land of Waves.
  • Soji arrived as Might Duy fought the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, and later froze Duy’s body for burial after Duy died from opening the Eighth Gate.
  • Soji took command of Kirigakure’s forces as Mizuki Ember and secretly coordinated with Minato to lure the Third Mizukage into battle.

Arc 10Snow Emperor and Sage Power

Soji defeated Kazahana Dōtō, gained Sage Mode from the Rainbow Ice Wall, and became engaged to Kazahana Koyuki. After discovering how snow helped him absorb Natural Energy, he returned to Konoha, where Orochimaru lost the Hokage candidacy to Minato and prepared to leave the village.

  • Soji exposed Kazahana Dōtō’s coup, defeated his forces, and killed him after the Rainbow Ice Wall revealed the Geothermal Generator rather than a source of power.
  • Natural Energy from the Rainbow Ice Wall awakened Soji’s Sage Mode, and he accepted Kazahana Sōsetsu’s request to protect the Land of Snow and become engaged to Kazahana Koyuki.
  • Soji left the Land of Snow, clashed with Ōnoki over the Land of Earth, and discovered that he struggled to enter Sage Mode away from snowy regions.
  • Soji found that he could absorb Natural Energy quickly in the Land of Iron, developed two snow techniques, and returned to Konoha as the war with Sunagakure approached its end.

Arc 11Soji Faces Madara

Soji set events in motion to reach Madara Uchiha after Rin’s death, then confronted him in a fierce battle. He left Madara facing four Frost Giants whose endless returns threatened to exhaust them both.

  • Soji stole the Amber Purifying Pot from the battlefield, helped trigger a clash between Iwagakure and Kumogakure, and became a celebrated hero in Kirigakure.
  • Soji followed Kakashi and Rin to the former Land of Whirlpools, where Madara’s controlled Anbu arranged for Rin to become the Three-Tails’ host and be killed before Obito.
  • Rin moved into Kakashi’s Lightning Cutter and died, awakening the Mangekyō Sharingan in both Kakashi and Obito.
  • Obito massacred the Mist Anbu, then fought Soji, who defeated him and tracked him back to Madara’s lair using an Ice Clone hidden in Kamui’s dimension.
  • Soji and Madara fought for hours in taijutsu before escalating to senjutsu and powerful techniques, with Soji freezing Madara and the surrounding forest in a vast blizzard.
  • Madara broke free with Susanoo, while Soji summoned the Snow Country Royal Palace and a Frost Giant that repeatedly returned after Madara cut it down.

Arc 12The Hyuga Reckoning

Soji survived his battle with Madara, uncovered the secret of the Hyuga Clan’s origins, and reshaped the clan after defending two Branch House members. As Orochimaru defected from Konoha, Soji pursued his Tenseigan research and confronted Danzo’s attempt to recruit him into Root.

  • Soji and Madara fought to exhaustion, and Soji used recalled Ice Clones to restore enough Chakra to defeat Madara with Void Strike, unaware Madara survived through Izanagi.
  • Soji searched Madara’s lair, learned clues about the Hyuga Clan’s lunar origins and the Tenseigan, and lost the Uchiha Flame Fan and a Hashirama scroll when Madara summoned the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path.
  • At the Hyuga Clan assembly, Soji declared Chizuru and Kiyoka innocent after their son’s death and the theft of his Byakugan, then beat clan members who had failed to protect them or had sought to punish them.
  • Hyuga Ryusuke appointed Soji Punishment Elder, and Soji accepted while naming Chizuru and Kiyoka as his assistants and resolving to reform the clan.
  • Soji collected blood from more than 1,600 Hyuga members and began developing Gene Fluid to strengthen his bloodline and help awaken the Tenseigan.
  • Orochimaru showed Soji the completed Chakra Armor, invited him to leave Konoha, and later gave him research scrolls before escaping after the Third Hokage discovered his human experiments.
  • Jiraiya volunteered to pursue Orochimaru while Danzo and Root moved against the defector’s former associates.
  • As Soji continued his research, Danzo and Root came to his residence, where Kiyoka demanded the Hokage’s written order before Soji arrived to face Danzo.
