Background / History

Li Er's sudden appearance on Golden Turtle Island created an abnormal fluctuation in the Heavenly Dao. Hongjun identified it as an uncontrollable Great Dao law or anomaly, but Tongtian's sheltering of Li Er prevented its source from being located 2 3.

The Heavenly Dao repeatedly manifested its Eye when events threatened established order. It responded to the Black Dog's transformation tribulation, later witnessed Zhunti's oath during the Golden Crow dispute, and imposed pressure on the gathering of Saints and Demon Race leaders 20 28 29. Kong Xuan's repeated consumption of tribulation lightning and Zhao Gongming's breakthrough each provoked increasingly destructive lightning responses 43 51.

The creation of new sect doctrines, cultivation paths, and laws steadily complicated its regulation of the Primordial World. Hongjun observed unusual growth in Thunder, Fire, Space, Time, and Life laws, while the Heavenly Dao itself was perceived as reacting with excitement to the emergence of Sword and Saber Dao 36 46.

The Three Purities' establishment of Primordial Time reduced the Heavenly Dao's absolute control over time.
