Background

Mordred is a Knight of the Round Table who resembles the Lion King, Artoria Pendragon. She considers Artoria her “Father King,” identifies Morgan as her mother, and is described as an exact copy of Artoria; her own blood likewise traces back to Arthur's Red Dragon lineage 3 80 119 186.

Her defining ambition is to be recognized as King Arthur's sole legitimate successor. Clarent, the royal sword she bears, was originally a symbol of succession kept in King Arthur's armory, reinforcing the claim she fiercely defends 69 316.

When the Lion King summons the Round Table in Singularity F, Mordred sides with her during the forced deathmatch against the dissenting knights. The Lion King subsequently grants Mordred the blessing of Berserk 3 4.

During the campaign against the Lionheart King, Mordred partners with Li Ye as a diversion force. She destroys the Chimera sea of fire with Clarent Blood Arthur, then fights alongside Lancelot, Tristan, and Gawain against the Lionheart King 64 69 77. She severes the Lionheart King's arm and relentlessly pursues him even while badly wounded 77 78.

After Li Ye defects from the Lion King, Mordred confronts him for betraying Arthur. Their battle becomes an explicitly mutual attempt at self-destruction: she burns her Spirit Core and unleashes her strongest Noble Phantasm, while Li Ye uses the Mystic Eyes of Death Perception to kill her with a single decisive strike 117 118 120.
