Background / History

Li Ye was originally a human with no known family lineage or identification. He later learns from the Seventy-Two Demon Pillars that he is the final human from “Beyond”: an existence absent from the planet’s recorded past and future. He nevertheless considers himself human and ultimately chooses to confront Human Evil as one 261 313.

His life changes after Artoria Pendragon’s Dragon Blood modifies his body. The transformation gives him a Dragon Heart, extraordinary mana generation, self-healing, and a body comparable to a Servant’s, but he initially lacks the experience and technique to use that strength effectively 4 12 97.

In Camelot, Li Ye seeks instruction from the Knights of the Round Table, particularly Lancelot. Their training gives him the foundation for his later martial arts, mana control, and weapon handling. He eventually becomes recognized as a Knight of the Round Table in his own right 12 56 264.

His repeated journeys through Singularities, Holy Grail Wars, and Lostbelts steadily transform him from an unusually powerful human into a living hero capable of challenging Heroic Spirits, Divine Spirits, Beasts, and Human Order-level threats 187 297 454.

He is also highly pragmatic. He is willing to steal magical resources, destroy strategic targets, or accept harsh consequences when he believes it is necessary for a larger goal, such as purifying the corrupted Holy Grail or protecting Human Order 205 297 313.

Despite this ruthlessness, Li Ye values personal bonds and the right of others to live. His compassion is especially clear in his protection of Sieg, his promise to save Ereshkigal, and his emotional connection to Tiamat 324 264 244.
