Background / History

Mash has lived at Chaldea since birth and was created as a human-Heroic Spirit fusion. Her condition has remained a major concern for Chaldea, even after she lost Galahad's power. 207 360

When Li Ye first encounters Chaldea's team in Camelot, Mash immediately treats him as a threat. His Dragon-like magical aura causes the Heroic Spirit within her to recoil instinctively, and she attacks first with her shield. 82

At that point, Mash recognizes that she has not yet matured enough to release Galahad's full power. Even so, she repeatedly places herself between danger and her companions—including Li Ye, despite their hostile first meeting. 85 88

Her confrontation with Lancelot becomes a turning point. After Galahad's identity is revealed, Mash's armor transforms; she identifies Lancelot as her father and defeats him in battle. 112

Appearance

Mash is a young woman who typically fights with an oversized snowflake-patterned greatshield associated with the Round Table. Her combat attire changes depending on the state of her Spirit Core. 82 112 434

  • Carries the massive Snowflake Greatshield / Round Table, which she can wield, throw, and use as a summoning circle. 82 115 487
  • Her awakened Galahad state manifests as transformed armor. 112
  • Her Autonoë exoskeleton is a modernized armored suit fitted with rectangular goggles. 434

Personality

Mash is fundamentally compassionate and protective. She instinctively shelters Ritsuka from danger, fights to protect refugees, and even defends Li Ye against Nitocris's Noble Phantasm after he had previously overpowered her. 86 88 100

She is capable of intense anger when confronted with cruelty. Lancelot's actions against refugees provoke her into demanding that he answer for his conduct as a Knight of the Round Table. 112

Her later experiences make her more willing to voice her own feelings. She regrets failing to understand the members of Group A while they were together and seeks to learn what their shared time meant. 478

Abilities & Skills

Galahad's Spirit Core

Mash houses the Heroic Spirit Galahad, whose identity is tied to her shield and the Round Table.

  • Initially, Galahad's power is inaccessible at full capacity. 85
  • Naming Galahad allows Mash to transform her armor and release substantially greater strength. 112
  • Galahad's power is later lost, forcing Mash to rely on alternate equipment. 347

Simulated Deployment / Foundation of Human Order

Mash's defensive Noble Phantasm creates a radiant wall of light through her shield.

  • It blocks the tide of undead released by Nitocris's Mirror of the Netherworld. 88
  • Ritsuka can reinforce its effectiveness with a Command Spell. 88
  • Its power is described as sharing the same nature as Galahad's Lord Camelot. 145

Shield Combat and Galahad's Martial Arts

Mash combines defensive shieldwork with close-quarters strikes.

  • Uses the greatshield to shield Ritsuka from incoming attacks and force open enemy lines. 86 100
  • Can abandon the shield momentarily to launch powerful kicks and bare-handed attacks. 82 461
  • Her martial skill, inherited from Galahad, allows her to hold back Skuld and three Fire Giants while Ritsuka completes a summoning. 479
  • She can throw the Round Table with enough force to breach the Hall of Flames and awaken Brunhilde. 487

Heroic Spirit Summoning Circle

The Round Table can function as a complete summoning circle.

  • Mash prepares the circle used to summon Paracelsus at Chaldea's camp. 115
  • With Li Ye supplying magical energy through Ritsuka, she deploys the Round Table to initiate a Heroic Spirit summoning. 478

Autonoë Spirit Core Exoskeleton

After losing Galahad's power, Mash uses the Autonoë exoskeleton designed by Little Da Vinci.

  • Restores her Servant-class physical performance. 434 459
  • Lets her wield the multi-ton Round Table as a weapon against Giant Races. 459
  • Preserves her ability to serve as Ritsuka's shield on the battlefield. 492

  • Leonardo Da Vinci — Chaldea colleague who analyzes Mash's condition and provides the Autonoë exoskeleton. 360 434
  • Ophelia Phamrsolone — Former Group A senior. Mash wishes to understand Ophelia and the meaning of their time together at Chaldea. 478
