"All right, that's enough for today. I won't disturb you any further."
"Your subordinate sees you off, my lord."
Lucas bowed respectfully. Only after watching Velin and Kyle leave did he turn around and walk toward Fiona.
"Mother, I want to have some wine tonight."
"All right." Fiona opened her arms and held Lucas in her embrace. "But only a little. You're very sensitive to alcohol, after all."
"I know."
Lucas struggled for a moment, but when he realized he could not break free from his mother's embrace, he simply gave up.
After hugging him for a while, Fiona released Lucas and looked at her child with concern. "For the next experiment, what do you need me to do?"
"You only need to focus on cultivation. After all, the stronger you become, the more secure my position will be with the lord." Lucas smiled as he answered softly.
"You're teasing me again."
"That's the truth, not teasing."
"All right, I'll listen to you. Is that satisfactory?" Fiona replied, shaking her head slightly with an indulgent expression.
Meanwhile, not long after Velin and Kyle left the manor, they descended from the sky, concealed themselves, and arrived on the road below.
This main road connecting Star Prayer City and Blue Gauze City had undergone several expansions. Its surface was now four times wider than before and entirely paved with lapis lazuli slabs mined from the Underground World. Sixteen carriages could travel side by side upon it.
However, only twelve lanes of the road were open to carriages. The lanes near either side were closed to vehicles and reserved solely for pedestrians.
Thanks to the beauty of Blue Gauze Lake, coupled with Velin's reputation, Qixing Territory continued to attract nobles from every province of the Ilia Kingdom despite being located at the border.
