Upon returning to the room and pushing open the door, Velin saw Xuemya sitting by the window, drinking.
Walking over to Xuemya, Velin picked up a wineglass and took a sip. "Something on your mind?"
"Not really." Xuemya took her husband's hand and placed it against her cheek. Slowly closing her eyes, she felt the warmth from his palm and softly said, "I was just feeling a little sentimental after seeing the sunset."
Velin gently stroked her silver hair with his other hand and asked softly, "When you went out with Aunt this time, did you see Sister Laila and Uncle Kadeqi?"
"I did," Xuemya replied quietly. "Not only did I see Aunt's older brother and sister-in-law, I also saw Aunt's nephew."
"Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever met Sister Laila and Uncle Kadeqi's child." Velin looked somewhat wistful. "Back then, I even promised to help the two of them raise their child. So many years had passed that I'd nearly forgotten."
"By the way, will Sister Laila and the others come to Qixing Territory?"
"They might return after the war ends."
