The 135th Legion was merely a noble legion, sitting at the bottom among the Noble Army—a solid second-rate force. Velin had no idea what sort of mission would fall upon them.
Four days later, the troops arrived at their destination—Fire Tree Valley.
"Milord, there's no one nearby." Cassius came before Velin, bowed, and reported on the surrounding situation.
Velin said nothing and looked up at the sky.
A moment later, more than a dozen aerial units appeared in the distance.
"The liaison officers from the Sixth Commander's Department are here."
Upon hearing this, Cassius stepped behind Velin and stood straight, waiting for the liaison officers to arrive.
Ten minutes later, thirteen Griffin Knights landed before the army.
A young knight clad in Silver-White Armor dismounted from his griffin, approached Velin, and announced his unit designation.
"Commander Velin, Ryanlis Dicalo, captain of the Third Squad, Seventh Company, Sixth Griffin Battalion of the Sixth Commander's Department, reporting to you. This is the order Lord Io Lixis entrusted to you."
Velin dismounted, nodded in acknowledgment, took the encrypted Magic Communication Crystal from the young Griffin Knight, and held it before his forehead.
Such high-level treatment meant the contents of this military order were extremely important, which only deepened Velin's doubts.
In an instant, the contents of the order appeared in his mind.
"This mission won't be easy."
Velin rubbed his temples, bitterness filling his heart.
If he completed this order, he would earn at least twenty Battle Merit. If the mission failed, the 135th Legion would not suffer any losses.
By all rights, he should have been happy about
