Velin emerged from the water and looked around. He was surrounded by a vast ocean.
"Where is this?"
Standing atop the water, Velin turned in a circle, looking somewhat lost as he muttered, "Could something have gone wrong with the teleportation?"
As he pondered, a colossal creature leaped from the water, opened its jaws, and charged at Velin.
"Vermin."
Velin spoke softly and raised his hand, slashing out a blade of light that cleaved the all-show, no-substance sea beast in two.
Blood splattered, but was blocked outside his Battle Qi barrier.
The enormous creature crashed onto the water's surface, sending ripples in every direction.
Before Velin could step forward to inspect the sea beast, its divided corpse began to break apart, condensing into a mark in midair that flew into his body.
"Where exactly is this? Could it be that the teleportation didn't go wrong after all?"
Touching his chest, a flicker of shock crossed Velin's eyes.
Pushing aside his distracting thoughts, he chose a direction and began walking forward.
For every thousand meters he traveled, a magical beast emerged from the water.
