Velin secured Barnsterpol Crystals, prepared Qixing Territory for his departure, and joined the campaign against the Black Asia Orcs. As Ninth Legion Marshal, he took command of his forces and Kyle began reorganizing the Twenty-fifth Legion.

• Velin entered the Shadow World with O'dor and Kyle, collected Barnsterpol Crystals, and helped treat Kyle after a shadow assassin injured him.
• Velin returned to Qixing Territory, warned governors to confront Black Moon creatures, and prepared to leave for the expedition while Lavia stayed behind to serve the territory.
• Velin entrusted Qixing Territory to his Guardian Knights and led his selected warriors to Palano Main Camp, where he met Krell and learned of Italia's withdrawal from the world.
• At the expedition conference, Velin was named Legion Marshal of the Ninth Legion and ordered to report to the Human Allied Forces Command Department.
• Velin took command of the 250,000-strong Ninth Legion and met deputy marshals Leonas, Selena, and Pragorn at Kixilin Main Camp.
• Leonas gave Velin Lester's message from the Dawn Paladin trial, and Velin directed Kyle to investigate Gadonf and take charge of the Twenty-fifth Legion.
• Pragorn recognized Velin as the Eternal Dawn Knight and admitted his connection to Great Priest Adams after Velin confronted him privately.

Velin built up the Ninth Legion’s aerial and ground forces, secured allies and supplies, and ordered an offensive to reclaim occupied territory. As Kyle’s forces uncovered spies and seized Melsa Fortress, the Black Asia Orcs began retreating and moving their people to safety.

• Kyle appointed Boke Ya as battalion commander, but Boke Ya begged him to rescind the order, so Kyle stripped Boke Ya and Bowen of their posts and assigned them to guard duty.
• Velin tested Darian’s aerial combat skills, selected Ignis as an adjutant, and arranged for Kvat Silverwing to take the new identity Ignis after leaving the Church of Dawn.
• Velin sold Yalin Olon Purple Condensation Gel under a confidential ten-year agreement and welcomed Ignis and Mu En to the Ninth Legion.
• Ignis led the aerial forces in a simulated battle against the Floating Fleet, which won after three hours of heavy losses on both sides.
• After Supreme Commander Cyrus ordered Velin to retake Lede Province, Velin assigned the Ninth Legion’s forces to attack key strongholds and directed Ignis to capture Celes Fortress and rescue prisoners.
• Nigellus showed Velin that Black Asia Orcs were using a fortress to create Shadow Warriors by killing captive shadow creatures, while a Legendary shadow creature appeared to support the operation.
• Kyle’s Twenty-fifth Legion took control of Melsa Fortress, disarmed and imprisoned the Thirty-fifth Legion Third Army, and captured a Kato organization officer and a Shadow Assassin.
• Kyle ordered the arrest of thirty-seven suspected spies, while Illictra prepared an assault on Anyu Town and the Black Asia Orcs began withdrawing and evacuating their people.

Velin managed the awakening of Kahe, separated him and Lah into their own bodies, and secured Mafarna’s cooperation. As Ignis’s forces broke the Black Asia Orc advance, Velin tested the captured general Titus in an illusion and recruited him after he escaped it.

• Illictra’s forces defeated Budak’s Dark Warriors at Anyu Town, while Kyle learned Doken City had fallen and prepared to move against Batoons Fortress.
• Ignis led the Floating Fleet’s assault on Celes Fortress, where the bombardment devastated the defenses and Ignis defeated Abart, and Lathern and Yudora fought, and Lassen killed Yulana.
• After the Twenty-fifth and Twenty-sixth Legions captured Batoons Fortress and Ximoji Mining Fortress, Mafarna confronted Velin over Monrisa and Kahe’s awakening revealed that Lah and Kahe shared one body.
• Kahe drew Velin into his Sea of Consciousness, apologized for the accident, and gave him the Fish of Destiny, and Velin then took responsibility for Kahe and helped separate the brothers’ souls and bodies.
• Kahe transferred Lah’s consciousness into the new body, and after both brothers awakened, Kahe pledged loyalty to Velin while Mafarna promised cooperation and accepted supplies for the Twelfth Legion.
• Ignis deceived the Black Asia Orcs about Celes Fortress’s defenses, and Manus sent Titus with sixty thousand Tribal Army troops to attack, and the Twenty-seventh Legion ambushed and defeated them, and Titus surrendered.
• Ignis sent Titus to Velin, who trapped him in an Illusionary Realm where he lived as the Heart-devouring Demon, raised Lin, and eventually discovered the realm was unreal.
• After Titus broke free of Velin’s illusion, Velin offered him work, and Titus pledged allegiance on the condition that Velin not betray him, and Velin appointed him as his masked attendant.

Velin prepared the Ninth Legion’s offensive against the Black Asia Orcs while uncovering a hidden Gray Orc force and receiving two elite legions as reinforcements. The forces converged on Tase City, where Kyle watched a barrier rise as the Twenty-fifth Legion prepared to draw out a Gray Orc legion.

• The Tenth Battalion destroyed the remaining Black Asia Orcs at Mu Rock Town, and Cecilia cooked the Fish of Destiny for Velin, Xing, and the griffins.
• Velin convened the Ninth Army Corps and Twelfth Legion to plan an offensive, then learned that Fulna had served Leonas and came from a distinguished military career.
• Deborah infiltrated a hidden valley camp and discovered the Blood Wing—Magic Energy Mechanical Legion, prompting Velin to delay the offensive and prepare the Floating Fleet for its threat.
• A major battle began at Polia Main Camp, where Human Allied Forces attacked the Black Asia Orcs and forced Manus’s troops to retreat with heavy losses.
• Velin and Gamongri prepared for a larger war, while Gamongri assigned Dades to train tribal warriors and secretly revealed Motana’s role in his plan against Manus.
• The Holy Shield Legion and Star Contract Legion joined Velin’s Ninth Legion, and their commanders demonstrated the strength and unusual combat methods of their forces.
• Velin chose Kanapakka City for the City of War, and Leonas activated its structures as Human Allied Forces operations spread across the fronts around Tase City.
• Manus ordered Bartholomew to defend Tase City, while the Twenty-fifth Legion reached its camp and Kyle watched a barrier cover the city, knowing his mission was to draw out a Gray Orc legion.
