"Since I had the good fortune to meet an Earth sorcerer, I'll explain a few things to you, Director Fury." The chair beneath Lowett began to deform and twist. Thick black tentacles, like crude oil, rose from the ink-like stains on the floor and coiled around it, swiftly forming a grim, eerie throne of white bones.
"First, you must understand one thing: Earth has never been safe."
"To the truly powerful beings of the universe... no, even to some advanced civilizations, the existence of S.H.I.E.L.D. is merely humanity proving its own courage. Your obstruction, regulation, even containment and revenge are matters not worth caring about to us."
Lowett leaned back against the chair, propping his chin on his left hand.
"You can keep indulging in your Persecutory Delusion, but you must also recognize which of your actions will not cross the line."
"If I want to kill you, what does that have to do with you? That sort of thing."
Nick Fury nodded gravely. "I will inform the World Security Council. Please give me some time, sir."
"Mm, fine. Your soul isn't lying."
Lowett nodded and continued, "Second, if you don't court death, you won't die."
"That magical pager can't help you. I could exile her into another dimension to eat radiation at any time. Besides, I'm sure you've noticed that New York's disaster was not simply Loki harboring some scheme. The signal emitted by the Tesseract was the root cause of Earth drawing attention."
"Believe me, before those who covet such treasures, the Kree are at most a strong dog. You are a low-level civilization that can't even deal with nuclear contamination, yet you want to touch the power of space. The fact that you didn't summon some cosmic monster and only attracted Loki means you barely escaped disaster.
