"Unfortunately, she didn't know that the two of you had already taken root in this universe long ago using the knowledge you learned from 'D.'"
In the vacuum of space, inside Leviathan's belly.
Within the dim hall, Lowett stroked the familiar armrest of the Bone Throne, a chilling smile curling across his lips.
"She wants to limit me by stopping me from obtaining the final Infinity Stone, preventing me from stripping this universe away from their hands. Quite the plan."
At that moment, the Emperor and Mistress had each split off a thread of Divine Sense and sat upon their respective thrones. The three thrones stood in triangular opposition: one shrouded in gray mist, another resembling Conan's black silhouette drawn entirely in black crayon.
"No wonder you dared to make a deal with her." The Emperor, flickering like an unstable black-and-white television signal, shook his head.
"So Asgard has such a wondrous artifact."
"Mm, but it makes sense when you think about it. Energy must be conserved. If that god controlling time could truly create endless timelines from nothing, then what the hell would we even be fighting for?"
"Exactly." Mistress nodded.
"No one understands the nature of worlds better than I do. In an abstract sense, he did indeed create countless timelines. But viewed from the perspective of an entire world, those timelines are illusory."
"The Five Creator Gods are symbiotic with this universe. The timelines he created are merely dreams within his body. If they are not observed, then to each of us, those timelines both exist and do not exist. When in doubt, quantum mechanics."
What the Five Creator Gods feared most was infinity.
The power their opponent displayed was too terrifying. Freely manipulating timelines and creating new branches—what kind of concept was that?
Creation represented reality.
