Huo Yu Hao first meets Xue Xiao Ran during a field assessment near Shrek Academy. He introduces his eye martial soul and explains that he, Wang Dong, Bei Bei, and Xiao Ya are disciples of the Tang Sect. He assists Xue with patrols, gathering food, and camp duties. 42 43

During the Youth Soul Master Competition, Huo becomes one of Xue Xiao Ran's principal opponents. His Mysterious Ice, spiritual attacks, and Tang Sect hidden weapons are repeatedly countered by Xue's Extreme Ice and spiritual power. Sky Dream Ice Silkworm and Electrolux each intervene from within Huo's Sea of Consciousness, but Xue ultimately defeats him with poison and a Soul Ray. 141 142

Huo develops feelings for Ju Zi, his former senior from the Sun Moon Royal Soul Tool Academy. He confides in Xue about those feelings and later reunites with Ju Zi when she travels to Shrek Academy to find him. 198 254
