Background / History

Xue Xiao Ran grew up in Icebound Castle in the north, the home of his parents, Judgment Sword Ice God Xue Lei Han and Ice Empress Dugu Yan. Born with Extreme Ice and Extreme Poison, he regretted not inheriting his father’s sword Martial Soul, but learned Xue Lei Han’s swordsmanship from an early age instead. His ambition was to equal—or surpass—his father. 1 2

Xue Lei Han called upon former comrades to train him. The Eight Monsters and Ten Elites taught Xiao Ran martial arts, hidden weapons, and practical combat techniques; he learned at an extraordinary pace. Qian Ren Xue later forced an additional top-tier Martial Soul upon him, giving him a third Martial Soul, Ultimate Angel. 1 2

Tang San entrusted Xiao Ran with Tang Sect techniques and sent him to the Douluo Continent alongside Tang Wu Tong, whose memories were sealed and whose identity became Wang Dong'er.
