Background / History

Hashirama lived through the Warring States Period, where he lost brothers while children were forced into battle. He later formed a close bond with Madara Uchiha through their shared wish for peace, but their ideals diverged. Together they established Konohagakure, after which Hashirama distributed the Tailed Beasts among the great nations in an attempt to preserve balance. 22

His final conflict with Madara left him critically wounded. According to Mito, Hashirama died soon afterward, carrying the regret that he had failed to bring Madara back to their original path. 7 22

Six years after Hoshiryu repelled Madara’s assault on Konoha, Hoshiryu revived Hashirama with an improved Impure World Reincarnation technique at Mito’s request. Initially disoriented, Hashirama mistook Mito for Madara and reacted aggressively before recognizing her and reuniting with her. 113

After learning Madara remained alive through Izanagi, Hashirama agreed to help locate him. He tested Hoshiryu’s strength twice, only to be decisively defeated in both sparring matches. 114 115 116
