"Have your 'secret' agents found those fugitives yet?" Rogal Dorn made no effort to conceal his disgust for them.
Though he never doubted Malcador's loyalty, he did not trust those agents.
The agents answered only to the Sigillite's orders. Not only did they never seek his opinion before undertaking secret operations, they never sent him briefings afterward.

The servants of the Imperial Palace Guard and the Sigillite's agents had clashed hundreds of times on the secret front, and thousands had quietly died without a sound.
None of them had records, nor were they regarded as loyal warriors of The Emperor.
Hooded in his robes, Malcador spoke in a low voice. "The fugitives' trail vanished after passing through the arches of Kamba-Mawu. Nagase Yasushi is tracking them."
Dorn's brow furrowed. Just as he was about to press further, light flickered in Malcador's eyes.
"Mo Zhi-Ming has arrived."
Dorn turned and looked toward the head of the Astra Telepathica entering through the gate.
He folded his arms. "Well, look who this is. The esteemed Lord Mo Zhi-Ming has finally deigned to leave the City of Sight."
"I have lost thirteen hundred Astropaths, and another five hundred are on the brink of death."
"More than a million people have died on Terra, and that number is still rising by the hundreds every moment." Dorn's tone softened slightly.
"Though they are not as valuable to the Imperium as Astropaths, you have not provided us with any useful intelligence either."
"I brought confirmed information, but you will not want to hear it."
