Nimrod looked around the shadowed side of the Third Layer Space.
This side of the "Kingdom of Disorder" was completely different from the real side on the other end. There were no physical divisions in the strict sense.
He had merely divided the different regions of shadow into the First, Second, and Third Layers out of habit.
Nimrod stared at the illusory shadowy threads that seemed to exist and not exist, spreading out with him as their center.
He was like a spider weaving a web, controlling the entire "Web of Faith."
Points of light drifted up and coiled around him. They were the believers of the Black Emperor.
Understanding dawned in Nimrod's heart. He could take any believer into this web and, according to his own will, place them at any relative distance from him.
"The level of the Source Essence can firmly control the believers on the Web of Faith."
"This way, I don't have to worry about the Fallen Count, or other Sequence demigods, slipping out of my control."
A steel-gray figure suddenly flashed through his mind.
"Perturabo—"
"As long as I bring him into the Source Essence's Web of Faith, even a Primarch won't be able to escape my control."
"But how can I make him believe in me? He's a staunch atheist."
Nimrod's mind raced, and inspiration suddenly struck.
"Perturabo and I have a decent emotional foundation. If I magnify his feelings toward me, magnify his guilt, then add a little Distortion, perhaps I can establish a faith that isn't all that firm."
"Together with the Web of Faith, it should be possible."
As Nimrod pondered, his eyes shone, and the embryonic outline of a plan to fleece Perturabo began to take shape.
He stepped forward and arrived in the real side's Second Layer Space.
