The Librarians were assigned among the three companies to balance their differing combat strength.
Inside the black Stormbird, Wilshire's gaze pierced the narrow observation window, looking down over the dense forest below and the endless plains in the distance.
The Auger Matrix's scans showed that this planet was the most Terra-like of the twelve.
Of course, that meant the ancient Terra of legend.
Most of what Wilshire knew of that ancient age came from pict-feeds shown early in his training, before his Legion had been determined, when they were cultivating his sense of belonging to Terra.
He did not even know whether they were true or false. By the time he was born, Terra had long since become a steel jungle made up of Hive Cities.
What Wilshire could be certain of was that Planet II was similar in size to Terra, and its rotation cycle was also close to a Terran day.
The most obvious difference was that the entire planet was shrouded in pale violet light, while Terra lay in gloom.
