The motor of the Chainsword in his hand drove its teeth into a rapid spin, yet strangely, it made no sound at all.
He swiftly pounced on the rearmost Rat-Face. In silence, the spinning teeth shredded it into fragments.
Flesh and blood struck the blade, only to be flung away at once, as though an invisible barrier enveloped the teeth.

Semenio calmly replaced the hydrogen canister, raised his Ika-Kharn Pattern Plasma Gun, and continued firing, though his gaze remained fixed on the rear of the battle line.
While he had still been embedded in Alpha, he had heard of their existence. Their abilities in this regard were every bit as exceptional as those of the Raven Guard and Night Lords.
Now, he finally had the chance to witness their combat firsthand.
Semenio stared intently at the last rank of the battle line, refusing to miss even the slightest change.
Yet the Shadow Scorpions emerged from the darkness in a manner beyond his senses' ability to track.
It was as if they had grown out of the shadows behind the Rat-Faces, launching swift, fierce attacks without the slightest sound.
Their savage assaults dismembered the enemies in the final rank, while even those in the adjacent row ahead noticed nothing.
Semenio's eyes widened as he tried to grasp the Shadow Scorpions' movements.
But their massive bodies, together with their black armor, vanished from sight. Neither the tactical display built into his power helmet nor his own eyes caught their trajectories.
Then, they abruptly appeared once more, swinging their blades down.
