As Yagami Rin's group's assessment came to an end, only Tiandao and Caroline's group remained.

As for whether the two could pass the assessment, not only Chen Kong and the others, but even Station 13's Dimensional Comment Stream had adopted a "lying flat and watching the show" attitude. They could not even be bothered to discuss predictions of who would win.

After all, in their eyes, Tiandao's assessment was nothing more than a formality.

A pale-blue membrane of star energy rose from the ground, enveloping the two standing side by side.

Tiandao was still toying with the Commemorative Silver Coin in his hand, producing crisp click-clack sounds. He clearly did not care much about the assessment and looked utterly at ease.

Caroline quietly adjusted her wristwatch, her emerald-green pupils sweeping over streams of data.

Even if it was merely a formality, she still wanted to ensure that no accidents occurred.

The next second, the light abruptly contracted, and the two vanished from the Rest Hall.

When they opened their eyes again, the smooth, spotless floor tiles of the Rest Hall were no longer beneath their feet. Instead, they stood on cracked plaza paving stones.

A faint Black Mist seeped from the dark-brown fissures. Stepping on them felt like stepping on damp sponges, with a barely perceptible sticky sensation.

In the distance, skyscrapers leaned at crooked angles. Their glass curtain walls had shattered into spiderwebs, and steel rebar jutted out like the broken bones of colossal beasts.

The air carried the scent of old, moldy books—the oppressive atmosphere unique to the Eternal Nightmare domain.
