At the edge of the central arena, Jing Liuli stared in terror at the colossal creature yawning in the middle of the field, her legs trembling uncontrollably.

Seeing her cowardly look before the battle had even begun, Tiandao said irritably, "Coward. That thing isn't a real ferocious beast. It won't go for the kill."

"Not necessarily." Yun Meng appeared behind the three of them at some point. She bent down beside Tiandao's ear, her red lips parting slightly. "Little Tiandao, today's assessment is different from the previous ones."

"If you still approach this assessment with the same playful attitude as before, you might be fine, but little Caroline and little Liuli may not be so lucky."

"After all, Doctor told me himself that all those big shots are looking forward to your performance. He told me not to let my Earth Dragon Lizard go easy on you."

Tiandao's mouth twitched. "I know. That old man's as stubborn as a rock in a latrine—smelly and hard."

"Once he decides something, no matter what anyone says, he'll carry it through."

"But Sister Yun, I don't know what you fed this Earth Dragon Lizard, but ordinary Earth Dragon Lizards should have mostly yellow-gray stone scales along their dorsal fins, right?"

"But look at your Earth Dragon Lizard. I could see the metallic sheen on its back from hundreds of meters away."

"How is this still an ordinary Earth Dragon Lizard? I'd say it's about to break through!"

"Ehh~ Who knows?"

Watching Yun Meng play dumb, Tiandao gritted his teeth so hard his molars nearly cracked.

Compared to this battle-shy butterfly who had lost her nerve before the fight even began—

The calm kitty, Caroline, who slowly walked onto the arena beside them, was clearly doing much better.

Though she also knew the three of them had no chance of winning.

But as Tiandao had said, they did not need to defeat this Earth Dragon Lizard. They only needed to make the old geezers watching this assessment drop their jaws.

And if that was the goal, their odds of success were not low.

Watching Tiandao and the others take the field one after another, Yun Meng smiled and asked, "Are you all ready?"

Tiandao nodded while holding down the battle-shy butterfly beside him, who was desperately trying to shake her head.

Its weight was so astonishing that even its simple run made the enormous central arena visibly shake.

"Scatter!"

Seeing the Earth Dragon Lizard charging at them ferociously, Caroline, standing at the rear of the group, immediately shouted.

Yet before she spoke, Tiandao had already run toward the front left.

Even Jing Liuli, who had looked so cowardly at first, displayed astonishing potential at this moment.

Though she kept saying she was scared, her actions did not hesitate in the slightest.

Her precious pillow, as tall as a person, suddenly displayed an effect similar to a flying carpet, carrying her swiftly toward the front right of the arena.

The appearance of this ability immediately drew the attention of the big shots in the VIP Room.

"Not bad. I'd been wondering why a child like Liuli, with such an obvious character flaw, could still rank third among the monster-filled Starborn."

"Now I understand. Her talent in Star Energy Control should be at the very top of S-rank, shouldn't it?"

Ms. Canary watched Jing Liuli sit on her pillow and fly rapidly at low altitude, sparing no praise for her.

A Star Energy Data Link was when a Mechanical type used herself as a signal base station, linking her teammates through Star Energy and sharing battlefield data with them in real time.

And accomplishing this was no easy matter.

Aside from requiring powerful Star Energy Control and a certain Star Energy level, Mechanical types also needed sufficient Computing Power.

Otherwise, forget sharing the collected battlefield information with their teammates.

The complex flood of information on the battlefield alone would be enough to overwhelm a Mechanical type's brain.

Commonly known as... brain overload.

But while Caroline and Jing Liuli's performances were indeed impressive—

Compared to Tiandao at this moment, they were like fireflies competing with the sun and moon.

Because for some reason, Tiandao had stopped as the Earth Dragon Lizard charged straight toward him.

He removed the sunglasses from the bridge of his nose, revealing those distinctive azure-blue eyes.

The next second, fine star-track patterns emerged across the whites of Tiandao's eyes, as if the entire starry sky were flowing within them.
