As time passed, the human civil war on the North Continent not only showed no signs of easing, but instead grew increasingly fierce.

Betrayed by the Flame Kingdom, Matthias completely lost his mind. He led an army of over a million men back in haste to rescue the royal capital and resist the Flame Kingdom's invasion.

But it was too late. The Flame Kingdom, which had plotted this for a long time, showed no regard for past ties. Taking advantage of the Storm Kingdom's main force moving north and the weakness of its western regions, it occupied five provinces of the Storm Kingdom, including the royal capital, in the shortest possible time.

Only when Matthias returned with his army did the Flame Kingdom's advance slow somewhat, but it still firmly held the initiative on the battlefield.
