As the elevator came to a smooth stop, Chen Xi and Ovilia stepped into the mine's tunnel. A series of messages appeared in his vision.
"Entering Alien Ruins, series of quests activated."
"Quest 1: Explore the current ruins."
"Quest Content: Alien ruins contain both dangers and rewards. Please explore and ascertain the situation of the current ruins."
"Quest 2: Cleanse the aliens within the ruins."
"Quest Content: Traces of aliens still remain within the ancient alien ruins. Cleanse them to prevent them from threatening the Imperium."
"Quest 3: Destroy the current alien ruins (optional)."
"Quest Content: The existence of alien ruins threatens the stability of this planet. You can choose to completely destroy it."
"Quest 4: Unknown."
"Quest Content: Explore the ruins to obtain more information to unlock this quest."
Seeing the series of quest information that popped up before him, Chen Xi nodded in understanding.
He had been wondering how to trigger more quests, since he only had a beginner quest and a main quest before, leaving him without direction for completing tasks.
Now that a whole series of quests had appeared, he finally had a direction for how to improve his authority level and obtain more points.
Big E's points could be exchanged for quite a few good things, and Chen Xi hoped to get more points to exchange for even more items.
He had already set his sights on the Psychic Talent exchange option, planning to exchange for a Theta-level Psyker talent for himself.
This level of Psychic Talent was considered moderate, not particularly powerful, but individuals with this level of talent could be aware of the existence of psychic powers and control them through their own efforts.
Relatively speaking, this was a more stable and less prone-to-loss-of-control psychic level. Most of the Psykers in the Inquisition and Astra Telepathica were of this level.
If the talent was any higher, it would be more dangerous, falling into the category that required supervision.
And don't underestimate Psykers of this level; they were already considered true Psykers and could display their powerful strength on the battlefield.
Taking the Inquisitor pawn that Chen Xi controlled as an example, his psychic level was only one level higher than Theta-level, an Eta-level Psyker, but he could already crush a Space Marines wearing Power Armor into a ceramite meatball with just one gesture.
As for higher-level Psychic Talents, it wasn't that Chen Xi didn't want them, but Psykers of this level could no longer control themselves and needed specialized supervision and control to restrain their untrained Psychic Talent.
Moreover, the higher the Psychic Talent level, the higher the degree of danger.
An untrained Delta or Gamma-level Psyker, unless they could quickly receive training and control after their psychic awakening, would only face death from the talent going berserk.
As for an Alpha-level... that would literally tear apart an entire planet, even tearing open the barrier between reality and the Warp, causing the destruction of a planet.
And according to the Imperium of Man's research, human genes were not sufficient to control this level of psychic power, unless they were a Primarch or an immortal.
But if Chen Xi had Alpha-level psychic powers now, he wouldn't need to go down into the mine with Ovilia himself.
Whether it was using psychic powers for prediction and divination, or simply pulling the entire ruins out from underground, it would be an easy task for an Alpha-level Psyker.
"Are these Blackstones natural minerals or alien creations?" Walking through the tunnels at the bottom of the mine, Ovilia looked at the obsidian-like deposits around her and asked Chen Xi curiously.
The Imperium of Man's research on Blackstone was still very preliminary, and even the Adeptus Mechanicus had only recently learned of the existence of this magical mineral.
Having finally encountered someone who seemed to know a lot about this stuff, Ovilia naturally wanted to get to the bottom of it.
"It's hard to say exactly where they come from. At least the information I've collected doesn't say whether this material is naturally formed or comes from the creation of some alien race." Chen Xi said, reaching out to touch the cut black deposits beside him. "But the Blackstone we see now all comes from the creations of the Necrons. These ancient aliens once built a large number of Blackstone creations throughout the universe.
These Blackstones are also the main materials they used to build their tombs or spaceships. Currently, all the Blackstone discovered by the Imperium of Man are basically various architectural ruins built by the Necrons."
"So, we're dismantling their houses?" Ovilia summarized with a more vivid analogy.
"I'd rather call it digging up their graves." Chen Xi said, suddenly pointing forward and asking Ovilia, "Is this the entrance to the ruins you discovered?"
In front of him and Ovilia, there was a breach in the wall that looked like a collapse, with some strange inscriptions and symbols nearby.
At the entrance of the tunnel, several automated defense turrets blocked the area.
"Yes, this is the entrance to the ruins." Ovilia stepped forward, controlling the few armed Servitors she had brought to enter the breach first. "For various reasons, I have never explored it before."
"Caution is right. Perhaps you should be glad you didn't explore it rashly." Chen Xi came to the side of the breach, looking at the strange inscriptions around him and said, "These inscriptions are Necron characters. Although we can't translate them yet, at least seeing them allows us to know that there must be Necrons buried below."
As Chen Xi spoke, he had his Servo-skull record them.
Although these Necron inscriptions were very mysterious and the Imperium of Man had not yet deciphered them, Chen Xi believed that they could be analyzed after collecting enough samples.
Ovilia, seeing this, naturally did the same.
After both of them recorded the inscriptions, they drilled into the breach together and arrived at the so-called alien ruins.
As soon as they entered the ruins, they were greeted by a somewhat dilapidated stone chamber, with traces of battle everywhere and many scratches on the walls.
The Servitors Ovilia had brought guarded the entrance of the room, while several metal beetles that appeared to be damaged were scattered on the floor of the stone chamber.
Chen Xi squatted down, picked up one of the beetles, inspected it, and handed it to Ovilia. "This is a Canoptek Scarab, a mechanical construct used by the Necrons to maintain their tombs. Have you seen these bugs when you were here last time?"
"No, I didn't see these bugs here when I came last time." Ovilia answered affirmatively after checking the records from her last visit.
