Arc 1The Five Lakes Ambush

Huang Shaojie rose through the Imperial Guard while solving the Flower Thief case and uncovering the Five Lakes Association’s role in the robbery of official tax silver. The arc ended with government forces storming the association’s estate and Huang Shaojie facing the Grey-robed Elder to protect Xiao Qiuyue.

  • Huang Shaojie took over the body of a dissolute silk merchant’s son, joined the Imperial Guard, and gained martial arts and cultivation through the Capture God System.
  • Huang Shaojie captured the Japanese pirate Yamada Taro and defeated the Flower Thief with Xiao Qiuyue, earning rewards and a promotion to Company Commander.

Arc 2The Japanese Spy Network

Huang Shaojie investigated Cao Renqi’s attempted assassination and uncovered his collusion with Japanese pirates. Cao was arrested and the Imperial Guards struck two intelligence strongholds, but Leng Ningxiang and an Earth Ninja escaped as the Provincial Governor arrived.

  • Huang Shaojie captured Wu Zhen after luring him back to Cao Renqi’s manor, then promised to investigate Wu’s claim that Cao had ruined his family and framed him.
  • Cao Renqi bribed Niu Ren to have Wu Zhen killed, while Huang Shaojie secretly watched Cao with help from Eight Lord.
  • Eight Lord discovered Cao meeting Japanese spies at Fountain Pavilion and arranging an attack on Prefectural Governor Luo’s residence and the transport of goods from the coast.

Arc 3The Mount Putuo Purge

Huang Shaojie helped crush the Japanese pirate network in Suzhou, gained a promotion, and received a powerful defensive technique. After he was assigned to hunt the Seven Great Villains, he captured Hao Bobo and forced her to lead him toward Gao Wan and Jin Daya.

  • Huang Shaojie secured Wu Zhen’s release and recruited him as Huang Manor’s guard captain, then helped him advance and taught him the Wind God Leg.
  • Emperor Xuande ordered Niu Ren to investigate Cao Renqi’s accomplices, while Japanese agents planned attacks on Imperial Guard commanders and Huang Shaojie’s household.
  • Watanabe and his allies massacred Commander Li’s family, then attacked Huang Manor, where Huang Shaojie killed the intruders and Watanabe died by poison.
  • Huang Shaojie and Niu Ren uncovered Japanese pirates hiding at Mount Putuo Temple, defeated their fighters, and captured Tojo Takeyuki as Yagyu Naiko died rather than be taken.

Huang Shaojie hunted down the Seven Great Villains, returned to Suzhou, and was promoted and transferred to the Capital City. There he joined Azure Dragon’s Eastern Pacification Office with Xiao Qiuyue, where reports of missing girls and boys surfaced.

  • Huang Shaojie killed the Three Wolves of Meiling, then forced Hao Bobo to lead him to Jin Daya and Gao Wan at the Fragrant Meat Inn.
  • Huang Shaojie captured the three villains, took their treasure, and escorted Li Gui’s family toward Nanyue, where Yin Xiaoxiao and Dou Sha attacked them.
  • Huang Shaojie killed Dou Sha and Yin Xiaoxiao, then found Tong Yidao and Zeng Kuang at their temple and killed them as well.
  • Huang Shaojie searched the temple, found the stolen treasure, and gained enough inner strength to reach the Second Rank Grandmaster realm.
