Obito was once Kakashi Hatake’s teammate and an advocate for protecting comrades. He regarded Kakashi’s father, Sakumo, as a hero and helped shape Kakashi’s lifelong belief in valuing companions above missions. 139

Rin Nohara’s death broke Obito’s ideals. His grief became hatred toward Kakashi, Konoha, and the Shinobi World, and he embraced the Eye of the Moon Plan: gathering the Tailed Beasts, reviving the Ten-Tails, and casting Infinite Tsukuyomi to impose his desired reality. 57 862

He operated for a time under the identity of “Uchiha Madara,” using the name to intimidate and recruit others. Shamu exposed both the false identity and Obito’s role in the Nine-Tails Incident, after which the Uchiha publicly expelled him from the clan and circulated intelligence on his abilities. 130 150

Madara later admitted that Rin’s death, the circumstances surrounding Obito’s descent, and Obito’s recruitment as a pawn had all been orchestrated to manipulate him. This revelation redirected Obito’s hatred toward Madara. 996

Obito is an Uchiha shinobi whose body was partially reconstructed with Hashirama Cells and White Zetsu tissue. He commonly conceals himself beneath a mask or black robe while operating as a rogue ninja.
